Immediately upon seeing "labour-backed currency" I immediately thought of the fact that in order for that to """""work""""" you would need essentially 100% of all exchanges of cash for X to be hyper-regulated through strict price controls and legal tender laws outlawing all non-retarded currencies like gold, monero, etc.

This is the same system the Soviet Union ended up using by the way, and it's actually functionally impossible to implement outside of a command economy that tries to force reality to conform to the labor theory of value.
