if i have $10 billion can I create a private army and invade some shithole like Madagascar and claim the country as my own? What are the repercussions to this? I come from the UK btw.

If I kill all of the officials and make myself a dictator what happens? Can this be done? I want to know how far /makingit/ can actually get you. Is $10 billion enough to take over a country? I would quite like to have a libertarian state desu.

bribe the key officials of the army
invade with my mercenaries as the first stage
then use madagascar army to take over from there
kill the army officials i bribed and now have full control of the millitary
kill the rest of the officials
now the country is mine

First off, why a shithole country?

#2 all the valuable players are already too expensive.

You're the uninvited guest, this won't work as the way you think.

The chinese are doing this as we speak with economic infrastructure loans that don't really spark economic activity. Look up chinese roads in AFrica, Papua New Guinea - chinese port, etc

They come in as friends, bank rolling new construction because their visions align-- chinese build it to their spec using "free" money because another country backed it - when the country defaults, china still pays the companies that built the infrastructure and now land in that country becomes China property and locals are displaced but blame is on the local politicans.

You don't just take over a country, there's no point in doing so. You are always the guest, the outsider, the nobody. Just because you may have more economic resources, does not mean success.

Anysort of idea you're formulating will require propaganda, a foundation and grooming of 5-10 years, e.g. highschool/university students to help sell you their country cheap.
