Also I'm saying this as someone who's IN college(CS+Entrepreneurship double major). I run two software products and do web development/SEO as well to pay for my school/expenses so I'll graduate with no debt.

Yes, but I would have waited a couple of years, done a different major, and been more involved in internships and different organizations. I would also have been a lot more social and chill. I was pretty much socially retarded and clueless about how the job market and personal finance worked then. I fapped my college years away on porn and nerdy shit with like 3 friends and never went out.

Nope this degree has not been useful for employment. I mean it probably helped in some way to get the jobs I've had and the job I currently have. However all these jobs pay low and don't necessarily require a degree if you have enough customer service/clerical work experience.

Back then? In a heartbeat. Tuition wasn't insane yet, I made a ton of friends, and I got laid constantly. Not the best years of my life, but close. All I needed was a braindead part time job during the semester for expenses, and a full time gig in the summer painting houses, making a stack under the table and getting in shape.

But I wasn't any autistic creep, then or now. I had a great time, learned a lot, and got a degree that actually means something. The only thing I would have done differently is figured out a way to stay for a Masters. They were dirt cheap back then, compared to now.

>> No.10713760

You need to either be lucky, have connections, or a trade....

I went to "some college" and did not earn a degree.

I am in the "technology" field and am making $125k yr, with car, gas and phone perks ($400mo for car, $400mo for gas and $75mo for phone).

I am a good talker and am pretty outgoing, I wasn't outgoing freshman or sophomore year of high school then after being really good at sports and having people cool with me you just change i guess.

a wise man once told me never look at what you are doing right now, look as where you are going. you also have to have confidence that you would succeed. sure there were some tough times and "bad luck" at previous employers but you just push through.

This is a tough question I wonder more often now than ever before. I went to community college following high school and lasted one semester. I had driving to class, I hated being there with professors who try and speak discussion and debate rather than just teach the subject so I can get out of there.

I dropped out and joined the Navy. Saw the world, was making ~30k as a 19-23yr old (with free healthcare and meals, so 30k is well). Now I’m in college at 24 years old (premier IT university) with free tuition and paid off cars.

Yet there’s one thing I can’t get back...and that’s teen-to-adult transitioning. You grow up fast in the military. Some nights, you’re a 19 year old kid driving a 800ft long ship at 3am. Next day you’re wearing a bullet proof vest and a shotgun on watch. Then they send you somewhere else and give you an additional $1000 to find an apartment. So I grew up and experienced things much faster than my peers.

I don’t know exactly how to explain how that fucked my head up. And nobody really understands when I try to explain. But it did. I just wish I would’ve taken a semester off instead of just dropping out so I could see if it was really worth it.

All my “crazy experience” stories are from my high school days. So we’re talking 10 or so years. It’s awkward to tell a story about getting high or shoplifting when I was 15 and someone counters it with getting black out drunk before finals at 22 years old then showing up to class in pajamas. Not that I wanted to that, because I was never into the party scene, but just wish I could’ve experienced the ups and downs of a college student trying to balance life

>> No.10715183

Let the brainlet alone.
Underwater welding is a meme. It's like the movies that show fire on space. Not real.
