When the show first came out, was too young and sheltered to be affected by the GFC. This was before getting into crypto and will binge watch the show to laugh at the preppers dropping upwards from 100k to over 1 mill usd to prepare for doomsday. Now I'm ironically one of them to prepare for hyperinflation and/or the next world war and/or economic collapse and/or solar flare EMPs. Cashed out half of my port of 500k USD in Jan this year, and have spent approx 100k so far prepping. AMA

Unironically the government/NWO's to get into government built nuclear bunkers if they have ties and agreements to be evac'd upon any extinction level event.

There's a trend for the middle upper class that are spending their holiday home money that are buying up condo's or self building bug out shelters in cold war missile era sites. Companies varies across countries (I'm an Ausfag)

Fellow ausfag here.

anybody else think how genius an idea it was to promote this waste of time from a business standpoint?

since the 50's multiple industries sprung up to capitalize on prepcucks food, bugout shelters...etc. what are some more ideas we can use to make money off this bullshit so these faggots can feel secure while jamal is out pounding white pussies?

Never in the history of the world has every country on earth gone to shit at the same time. Its gone to shit in various countries, sure. But just pack your bags and move. Leave. Go to somewhere that doesnt have bombs falling on it. It will be much cheaper than whatever you are doing and much more likely to succeed.

Like those fags from syria. The smart ones didnt try to bunker down or live in some survival cave or whatever. They packed their bags and walked/boated to Germany. And they all lived, at least the ones who didnt drown. Germany even gives them free gibs just for showing up. Free food and housing.

Good argument. You should probably spend even more money to make sure you survive the happening. Spend all of it in fact. You cant spend it if you are dead, right goyim?

Purchased a 15 acre farm around 50km from a rural town with a population of 3000 (Coonabarabran) for around 100k AUD, used to go stargazing here as kids with parents so know my way around the area. The property has a shack that is dilapidated, access to electricity and water, and planning to dump another 100-200k AUD (wagecuck bucks or crypto, whichever comes first), over the next year to build an underground bug out shelter using 2-3 shipping containers. Inspiration will be similar to the movie '10 Cloverfield Lane'. This will be my bug out shelter for my wife and myself once completed, is 6 hours drive from the city, and currently moving stockpiles of gear, supplies and food every 3 months.

Wagecucking skills are useless - freelance SEO consultant, but allows me to spend plenty of time at the bug out property. Both wife and myself grew up in farming families, so we have stockpiled plenty of seeds and started growing crops on the property. Both licensed to own firearms and we go to the firing range once a fortnight to keep up marksmanship. General all rounder handyman, electrician, and have decent survival skills, with wife as a nurse so we have some medical knowledge at hand.

Currency crisis and hyperinflation either through the following - East (China) vs West (US) through either a combination of the petrodollar, geopolitical (South China Seas Crisis), war on AI, trade.

Unexpected are EMP from a massive solar flare burst that will kill off even crypto for months to a year by wiping out major electricity grids.

Indeed, but the situation for countries like the United States and Australia are different because we generally lack options to just walk over to the border (We have none, and you merifags have Mexico/Canada). Our countries are so large, that there are many areas that you can bunker down and weather out the storm until stability is back instead of fleeing the country.

Think the difference between most preppers and those that think we're crazy, is that we don't want anything to happen to our family whenever signs are pointing to the probability of shit hitting the fan. You can be sure that we'll be out of the metropolitan area whenever things look dicey, and have the option to return back home whenever things calm down.

Still not sure if it's a retarded idea to set up a faraday cage to protect my computing equipment and crypto hardware wallets, as EMP's will wipe off communication. But the dip will be so juicy right?

Yeah that's what my wife is telling me also to not waste money on the faraday cage. But surely blockchains will be recovered from servers and revived so it can continue? It may be just the catalyst to show why crypto is needed, since most debt/money records of money will be wiped out. Trying to sell her the idea that we should build a small one to protect things like radio, general purpose copper wiring, back up solar panels etc so we can still function post EMP ok-ish.

Assuming you'll GTFO as the first or if you're lucky, the 2nd wave of those that are trying to flee the country before the transportation grid gets locked down, and martial law restricts flights out/in the country, then you'll already be better off than the majority of the population that refuse change and to leave their home, pets, friends, family and community behind.

But where will you go and why? And any back up plans if the crisis slowly becomes engulfed globally? Your comment of never once in history has every country been fucked simultaneously, but since the internet and globalization, the world is now much more interwined and interdependent of each other. Things are different nowadays.

No, he's right. Look at when the USSR fell - shit was bad, no picnic for Eastern Europe and the former Soviet satellite states. But roaming the Wasteland with Dogmeat bad? Nope. People in real life don't magically forget how to grow crops, organise towns etc. Ex-military factions and mafias set up as quasi-warlord pseudo-government rapidly, and many even made the jump to real government successfully, or were deposed by people who understood why doing more than raiding peasants is necessary. I doubt even a full nuclear war would change that, it'd be hell on Earth for a short while, then back to "normal".

He's not right. He's making a lot of positive assumptions: whatever left of the government remaining democratic, society still functioning to a degree, people remaining civil, working air travel service, other countries accepting refugees, simple immigration process, etc. The Soviet Union isn't even a good example. In many countries where autocratic governments take over after a revolution, people who tried to escape were simply killed.

You honestly think some foreign country (((China))) is gonna invade Australia? Or society will collapse and we’ll see unrest or civil war here? Think most preppers stockpile to increases their chances of survival so they have more options to plan for the next step. Indeed a community is where it's at, but you need to make it past the first stages to even attempt to join/form one in the first place.

No China shouldn't be wasting resources unless they really want our underground minerals. If anything it's more our allegiance to the states, and how we're one of the countries that are incredibly reliant on China to buy our exports.

Plan is to have hidden entrances and CCTV surveillance as second tier to security. They can take the shack, the crops and animals, but they shouldn't find the underground bunker to weather most storms. Will pussy out and avoid all conflict scenarios as I know I'm not the best shot, nor built like a chad in a physical fight. Rather hide out and let them take everything above ground than to risk my family's lives.
