I thought it was something for a second, it's just another blockchain startup, that's worse than the origami "partnership"
What is OpenLaw?
OpenLaw is a blockchain-based protocol for the creation and execution of legal agreements. Using OpenLaw, lawyers can more efficiently engage in transactional work and digitally sign and store legal agreements in a highly secure manner, all while leveraging next generation blockchain-based smart contracts.

Using OpenLaw, you can create “legal templates” which can be enhanced using our “Legal Markup” language. Our Legal Markup language is akin to Wikipedia’s “wiki text” with greater functionality and enables anyone to wrap logic and other contextual information around traditional legal prose.

It seems to be a SaaS provider focusing on making easy to use interfaces for B2B use of private blockchains.

Simply said if Chainlink is the backend, This could potentially become the front end interface for businesses to use and customize easy to use interfaces for their own ledgers.

Seems legit.

The partnership with Zeppelin OS, an Ethereum dApp development framework with secure libraries makes me also bullish on the network effect of ChainLink. The ChainLink Community News website states that 95% of all Ethereum dApps were written via Zeppelin OS. Zeppelin may integrate ChainLink as standard oracle network what in my eyes already happened with the partnership. It's a token, not a coin; it isn't a currency so to speak, but it pays people who run the network that Link uses, and, of course the idea is it accumulates value as use of Chainlink grows. If you go to CoinMarketCap . com you will see a search box where you can find the Link token, right now it's about 0.25 USD.

Although it is Reddit, the r/linktrader sub may be a good place to find some more solid information, /biz/ threads often divulge into a fud and shill tug-of-war.

So in summary, no it isn't like shares, but does/will have value in relation to Link's network. Also official website is a good place to read up on the vision of the thing, etc.

We'd be one of the first companies in line for something like Chainlink, if the decentralized smart contract space had more value over traditional data exchanges. There's a catch though, an underlying flaw more deeply embedded in the bedrock of LINK than the very code itself. The flaw is with the concept, and it's this: Companies won't actually go through the hassle of trusting their data API's through crypto.

Now I can already hear your keyboards going frantic, but hear me out. /biz/ hates banks, and traditional data providers. But actual companies, businesses, and investors do not. There's an old saying you might have heard of: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!". The idea that any of our bosses would give us the go ahead if we approached them to put our companies valuable data in a smart contract on a cryptocurrency called Chainlink, that they've never heard of, we'd be laughed out at best and fired on the spot at worst. We already have API data buyers and providers we trust.

'But Chainlink is trustless!' I hear you cry, but is that really a good thing? Just listen to the sound of it. Businesses don't want to spend millions of dollars on something that is trustLESS, they want something trustFUL. 'But the reputation system!', doesn't that defeat the whole point of your coin? If companies only trust nodes with high reputation, what's the difference between trusting banks and data providers that already have reputation, but in real life not on a computer screen.

The fact is, LINK is going to share the same fate as ETH will. A lot of 'real world application' hype, with a lot of 'crypto world application' reality. Only, this billion supply coin isn't going to come close to the $1k that Etherum hit. Happy gambling though anons.

yes and? theyre associated because chainlink is a contributor. and they clearly expressed the fact that anyone can become a contributor. a partner owns a piece of the company, which chainlink or any other oracle service, doesn't do. so instead of being some sort of exclusive partner which you make chainlink out to be, it's just one of an infinite amount of possible contributors. hardly has the same fucking ring to it does it m8?
