10689329 No.10689329 [Reply] [Original]

Alright guys, I'm here to help you. I traded crypto for probably 6 months (June 2017 -December 2017). I now invest, mostly in safe stocks and a bit of small options just so I can grow my money a bit while I pay off my house.

I'm here to tell you HODL is a meme put on you by ((them)). Crypto is bleeding out, and you can keep your money if you'd just take it out now, and be PATIENT with it, waiting for a time to reinvest. Let someone else hold while you wait for a good time to get back in.
Why wouldn't you? Are you afraid of a 10% price jump? Why are you not more concerned with the 200% bull run. Stop chasing quick cash and think about how you can make some real money. Just wait a bit. Pull out, and even if it jumps 10 or 20% right when you do, dont fucking worry about it and THINK before you put the money back in if the market is going to breed a REAL bull run, not just artificial pump and dumps that are DESIGNED to make you lose money. You can make it, it doesn't matter how far down you are. But 10% pumps aren't what you should be worried about, real bullish markets are what you should be chasing. Right now we are obviously in a bear market, and you should wait until it is OBVIOUSLY not. You're losing money because you're afraid you may not make every single cent of profit, and because of it you inherent every single risk.

And yes, right when you pull out it will pump, but who fucking cares it's going to go back down more. Look at the monthly charts, not the hourly. It'll go lower.

TLDR; pull out now and wait for a good time to put back in, and don't chase pump and dumps. Play smarter

BTC's close enough to a floor that I don't feel bad holding it right now. Someday it'll be 100k so who cares if the price is 6k, 5k, 4k today.

Alts have no floor and who knows how long they're going to keep bleeding, so I agree with you there. No reason to hold anything other than tether or btc in these market conditions.

>> No.10689411

>>10689388
No, I mean the people who started it. yeah, a bunch of retards think it works because of the synthetic bull run last fall, but it is not a valid investment strategy. HODL literally takes no brainpower and somehow people think it'll make them money. If you're losing money, you need to stop your losses at some point

>> No.10689435

>>10689404
Because if you pull out now, you would be able to keep all the value, and then either reinvest when lower and starts bull running, or when it's in a safer spot that will guarantee you money. Right now your risk is super high. In fact, you almost KNOW it's going to go DOWN. Why let your assets devalue when you can tether up and wait for a good entry point?

Actually why would I ask that question. I know why you wouldn't. The only reason is because you're afraid of not making EVERY SINGLE CENT possible in a bull run. But how is that 20% potential missed profits worth the ABSOLUTE FACT of a bear market. 20% doesn't matter in a massive bull run. You can make so much more if you have more starting capital. Imagine if everyone pulled out in January down 30%, and reinvested that when the bull run starts rather than now when they're down 80% and have little starting capital. They have potential for like 2.5x the profits. Thats a lot more money.

>> No.10689532

OP, i'm new at trading so tell me, why it's a bad idea to invest in the bear market?

>> No.10689541

>>10689513
Dude it really isn't. You're thinking this is the bottom, and it MIGHT FUCKING BE, but YOU have literally 0 clue if it is. Just wait until you're more likely to make money. Just take it out now and reinvest when profits are more likely. They're super unlikely now. Even if it doubled in price tomorrow, the market is still bearish, and you should wait until it isn't.

Bear market means the value of the currency is falling. The only people making money are the people manipulating people like you to buy in, and cyclically sell into their buys, which will then make them money, before convincing you to buy again and repeat the cycle. Bear market means only experienced and manipulative traders are making money. You cannot beat them, they control the graphs. The only way to make money off a bear market is to SUPER ACCURATELY predict when the price will bounce and buy at the "bottom", sell on the dead cat bounce, and then wait for them to do the cycle again. But you cannot predict the bottom, it's whenever they want it to be (especially in crypto because of the low market cap and ease of price manipulation). It just makes more sense to wait for a market where everyone is making money.

>> No.10689630

>>10689582
HODL is not the same as investing in something. If I invest in crypto and THINK it's going up then it makes sense to keep my money in it. EVERYONE KNOWS IT IS GOING DOWN RIGHT NOW. Why are you still holding assets that are LOSING THEIR VALUE?? HODL is the only reason. You may be up 1000%, but the fact is you'd make MORE money stopping losses and being SMART about investing, not just blindly following a meme.

>> No.10689645

>>10689599

I see... But why would they sell low while they could sell high? Just because they know that people will buy a lot more?

>> No.10689672

>>10689645
Sorry, I was not very clear there. The price drops. People sell low because they think it's crashing and the whales buy it. It then goes up a little bit, and the whales sell back to people that think it's going up and the whales make a profit. Then it crashes again, repeating the cycle.

>> No.10689750

>>10689672

So the only way to make money on a bear market would be to be a rich guy or a lucky one who could predict when it would hit bottom and then go up?

OP is full of shit, he's been bagholding like the rest of you and asking you to bleed your portfolios catching knives like a pro instead of when (((speculators))) were telling you to do it at 5 digits, His experience on other markets doesn't go further than a month, he's just accepted recently the writing on the wall and is looking at other places. Dude, how many times has it been “quite possibly” the floor. Just fucking wait until you have more than speculation on your side. Be confident in your investment. If you have 1k in there right now, every day you let it sit there and trade is like you investing 1k dollars into this market, rather than letting it sit in your bank. If you wouldn’t take another Thousand and put it in right now, then why would you put your money on a “potential bottom”

With stop losses one could just as likely have additional profit just as one could lose that profit. Glad your strategy works for you anon, but there are different play styles to this game.

I hold assets that are losing their value because I don't know where the bottom is, and neither do you.

About 5, looking at the chart. If I had more fiat I’d be putting it in right now instead of buying the pump like 90% of biz.

Maybe! If you're confident it's going to rise right away, I don't see why not. But I don't see how you could be confident in it immediately turning intoa bull market after this. Tell me your logic. Why invest now rather than when it's had time to consolidate? do you believe the bull market starts now? What makes you believe that?

I don't actually care about the answers to those questions. Those should be the questions you're asking yourself before holding onto your bags. If you cannot find reason to hold right now, why are you doing it? Because of apathy?

oh please, just yesterday VET was trading at 140 sats and dropped all the way down to 101 sats, if you bought near the bottom you could have made a 20% profit by swing trading.
It is all about looking at charts and being patient, also putting stop losses in case the price goes lowers.
