To be honest, I'm not really that interested in the price right now, the tech is what appeals to me (I already deleted my blockfolio). I believe in the project, so the day to day price is of little concern to me. Besides, the entire market has suffered so this was to be expected... imagine you sold etherium at $1, and how you would be kicking yourself for that. I would argue this is a much needed correction and is bullish for the longer term. That said, I wish my pay check would come in sooner so I could make use of these panic sellers. Hopefully the price will stay down and I'll have some time to accumulate. For now the west is keeping it low and there's a lot of baseless fud going around, most of it started by buyers who want to get in cheaper. The fundementals are still great, the partnerships are legit, and there are some big updates coming soon, so just keep accumulating and check back this time next year!

To be honest it is completely fucking retarded. Trust me every fibre of my being does not want to. Here is what is basically goin on in USA

>Shitload of people go into crypto in 2017 and just made lots of trades without giving a fuck about taxes, because we assumed it was on WHAT YOU CASHED OUT ONLY
>End of 2017, article comes out saying starting 2018, every trade is taxable
> Crypto CPA I consult says no you need to pay on every transaction
> but why tho
> Because the IRS eventually will get the records from Coinbase and if Binance etc wants to maintain their large base, IRS will eventually get those records too

So basically, all of these crypto CPAs are telling people to pay to be on the safe side, so that they don't get buttfucked by the IRS 3-5 years from now, in the case that the IRS actually figures out what to do with this shit.

So some people are just going to say fuck you and not pay, and risk being taxed and penalized later. Others will be good goys and pay.

Fuck this entire thing DESU. I'm sure some people owe or are underwater like me.

I don't even know anymore since my crypto is 12k and I owe 45K. I can't do anything but hold. I'm just dead inside.

It's because people have trades spanning two tax years.

1. Buy BTC in 2017 for $1k.
2. BTC goes to $15k, buy $15k of shitcoin, you now owe capital gains tax on $14k because according to IRS, you realised your gains by trading one coin for another.
3. Your shitcoin crashes 90% in 2018. You now only have $1.5k in crypto but you can't write those $13.5k losses off against the previous years gains because it's two different tax years.
4. Congrats, you now owe more in taxes than the entire value of your crypto.

Yes if he was making active trades in 2017, never paid taxes, and continued to actively make trades in 2018 then he's on the hook, but I know plenty of people who shit themselves in January and basically didn't make a single trade all year as they hoped the market would turn back around and moon
