Decentralized oracles are "fake". The data is never decentralized. It doesn't matter if you feed it through a proxy or not.

What is the difference between a decentralized smart contract and a decentralized oracle? NONE.

It's just a decentralized contract that redirects data.

link is just trying to profit off eth proposing a fake solution to a problem that can't be resolved this way.

explain how this is wrong?

i shouldn't, but ill bite

the point isn't that the data is decentralized, the point is that the network delivering it is, which means two important things:

- its always on and there are always competitiors
- if you do deliver bad/faulty data, the data requestor still wins in receiving a penalty payment

that way there is no motive to be a bad actor, which is why everyone has such a hardon for decentralized trust less networks

you dumb fuck

are you legitimately this uneducated about the project?
the two value propositions for the fucking value asset are payment for data and staking in the event of penalty payments
if you really haven't even read the whitepaper please kill yourself now so your links never see the market

that's mirroring and is where reputation comes along
you don't want a thousand oracles connecting the same API source
you want one oracle per source, it's like uber for oracles. ChainLink just allows them to use a trust-less network that earns oracles (drivers) a way to profit from their sources (abilities)

>> No.10663536

Or you just use an oracle from a trusted source with a good reputation and redundancy through the cloud.
Hosted at the big players who.have economy of scale and can therefore always undercut small fish.
