LINK is required to create a request and is used to pay node operators for fulfilling that request. The request query payload is part of the token transfer as per the ERC677 token standard (https://github.com/ethereum/EIPs/issues/677).). Requesters may also specify an amount of LINK that each node must lock as a penalty payment for bad behavior.

We've had threads about this news. CBA will be part of a blockchain conference at SIBOS in Sidney alongside the usual suspects (Digital Asset, IBM, JP Morgan, Hyperledger - Accord and IC3 Partners) and Australian ASX, it's just more breadcrumbs and speculations but never any confirmations... CL has just been listed on an Australian exchange, there's been some Australian dollars tests on testnet...
