Holochain devs stubbornly insist that global consensus is not necessary to have a decentralized cryptocurrency. They might be right about it if there were no human beings, but unfortunately our cybernetic systems need to interface with the meatspace in order to serve as a currency and stimulate human economic activity. A global consensus adheres to an absolute basic foundational concept of computer science, abstraction, providing a legible ledger for human auditing purposes. This is necessary to satisfy a sophisticated investor, a business that must meet tolerances to stay profitable, an inspector for a government regulated service provider. It establishes a standard to judge future behavior against, allowing the deployment of fixes to unforseen malfunction. Showing considerable disregard for the human condition, Holochain maintains that this anthropic silliness is not optimum in a utopian fantasy, therefore they embark on their mad experiment to test the limits, eventually planning to scrap Holo entirely once they become bored with the project. Implicit consensus will be an ever-changing mess of ever-increasing entropy. Any security researcher will agree that the more complex a system, the more difficult security becomes. Mark my words, Holochain will experience an unending series of serious compromising attacks on it's ledger, each one different than the last, and increasingly expensive to debug. You know why Holo is the top coin? It's because everyone like me in Holo early understands the fundamentals of this coin. DYOR poors. In this crypto market there is nothing else that has any value whatsoever, and never has been. Holochain is literally the first cryptocurrency ever, and thousands of years from now, it will be the only one remembered.
