wouldnt it be more realistic for chainlink to moon just by people thinking its the next ethereum and having people buying it thinking theyre going to get rich rather than thinking youre going to completely revolutionize banking and insurance and having a singularity where these real banks and companies actually use online token meme coins for their transacting

nobody will ever use it i just think the way that chainlink makes it to the moon is the same way the other coins mooned they didnt have anything to offer except the idea of something happening but nothing will actually happen

that doesnt make it any worse just realistic. its dangerous for people to be waiting and waiting for adoption that wont come and have chainlink not moon because they didnt get this... they were lost in a utopia where the real world and serious businesses actually abandon the US dollar and start using chainlink

lmao thats the wrong way to look at it i prefer it just organically reaching #3 coin by word of mouth and not really having a singularity with big business id rather it be a neet coin with promising tech

You're probably right OP. Then some people on here have the gall to FUD any hype because they're so certain this is going to be the one meme coin that actually gets used

Is it not naive to expect LINK to be literally the only crypto that actually is used in the real world? It's possible it could happen, sure. But I wouldn't bank on it. Even fucking Ethereum is just a memecoin factory and isn't actually used IRL

In theory, yes, LINK could save a load of businesses a load of money. But big business is so bureaucratic and sclerotic that even good ideas like LINK don't get implemented. And if they do, it takes fucking ages by which point there will be a ton of other developments that mean it's impossible to predict what will happen with any degree of certainty.

I can't believe the autists on here have so much faith 1. in LINK itself and 2. in big business to adopt and use LINK that they FUD it. Do you realise how fucking unrealistic $1000 EOY is?

I don't mean to FUD too much. I hold LINK and it is a good idea. But it is far from a sure thing. There are so many contingencies. So much stuff that has to happen. So much stuff that can go wrong. I'll become a millionaire at $10 LINK and you'd better believe I'm selling a shit load of it at that price.

FUCK this shit is depressing

cant tell you how many times this kind of thinking has been right
i remember when people were pitching a cell based telephone that cost ten bucks a minute-what retards!
then some idiot said that people would PAY to send small bits of text with those phones, when they could just be talking! how stupid!
almost reminds me of the ultimate pump and dumb: internet stores. can you believe there were people who actually thought sane human beings would transmit their CREDIT CARDS over the internt to buy things? where every pirate worth their salt can steal all their money?

yep, you're a smart one. im so glad to find a like minded individual to get rich off these tech fads with me.

You know what else pisses me off about chainlink $1000 meme? The market cap.

For one LINK token to be worth more than $1000, the market cap of LINK would have to be $1 TRILLION.

A FUCKING TRILLION DOLLARS

And then when anyone points this out the fucking geniuses on here always point out 'but market cap is a meme'. They always make the same useless points like "market cap is just the last price x supply". Well obviously it is! You think this is some deep dark secret?

Market cap is not a meme. Yes, if LINK has a market cap of $100 million, say, this doesn't mean that $100 million has been invested in LINK or that if all link tokens were sold they would total $100 million. But it's exactly the same with stocks. Apple has a $1Tn market cap. Do you think people on wall street are saying market cap is just a meme? What else are you going to use to value a company?

>Muh circulating supply, locked up in nodes, etc.
fuck off. Stocks get tied up and taken off the market too. Wishful thinking to justify a pie in the sky $1Tn valuation

ONE FUCKING TRILLION

nobody has ever gotten the us economy to abandon the us dollar

anything is possible but im just saying the more realistic outcome would be just to have people invest in the coin hoping to get rich and then have the price go up that way . thats the only way a cryptocurrency can gain value not by real world use

its never been demonstrated

why wouldnt you take the easier more guaranteed path thats been proven already

even if blockchain is an important future technology (like the internet is) how can you be so sure LINK is an Amazon or Google and not a pets.com or a netscape or any of the other failures? The people buying these stocks were right that the internet was going to be the future but also very wrong

I hold LINK and I'm FUDing the fuck out of it tonight. I don't know what's wrong with me. I believe this project has huge potential but the absolute certainty on here is fucking DELUDED

yeah, it could happen. But it's just another thing you can't bank on

Chance of blockchain being a huge part of the future: 80%
Chance that smart contracts play an important part of that future: 80%
Chance that decentralized oracle middleware is the way data gets on to the blockchain: 50%
Chance that one of these decentralized blockchain middlewares becomes a monopoly: 70%
Chance that that decentralized blockchain middleware is LINK: 70%
Chance that enough tokens are locked up in nodes to inflate the price: 50%

I literally just plucked those numbers out of thin air but you see my point. There are so many hurdles that have to be overcome before the question of tokens being locked up in nodes becomes relevant. And I missed out a ton of them in my example. What about the chance that LINK doesn't even work?

And btw, I know a 7% chance of LINK overcoming all those hurdles makes it a fantastic investment. A 7% chance of 100x return is a phenomenal bet. That's why I hold LINK in the first place.

My point though is that LINK going to the moon is far from certain. It's so dumb to FUD this token when as OP says speculation might be the only way this token actually increases in value.

Stop acting like the success of LINK is certain

I've done the math guys

So the market cap of gold is $7.8 Tn.

If LINK captures 2000% of the gold market cap that will be $156000000000000.

Divided by 1 billion tokens = $156000 per LINK

But lets assume 99% of LINK tokens are locked up in nodes.

LINK $156000000 EOY

First three are definitely 100% in my opinion. Fourth is not very likely. Link will absolutely be used but I don't think it will be a monopoly, or at least not for longer than a few years.
Any amount of link locked up in nodes will inflate the price. It just depends on how much link will be locked up in nodes.
