not everything in reality works so simply as buy high price sell lower price.

You sound like the exact person would think that 120 billion market cap in BTC means 150billion dollars invested. or someone who thinks for BTC to increase by 700 bucks right now, people need to spend 12billion USD

shorting causes price discovery a little faster.
