It's a safe place to live here (considering you are a medium class guy), good infrastructure (subway, bus, train), a lot of options for visit, good nightlife, places to eat..

The problem is: Price.
The normal brazilian wageslave win less than 1000 reais/month (less than 350 dolars) so he cant afford a good life.

If you come here as a foreigner (we call as "gringo") with some nice contacts you will get a good job somewhere, almost every good jobis related to contacts here. And brazilians love "gringos", if you come here be carefull with hookers.

You are a foreigner here, and usually first world country guys dont have "malice" or enough street life knowledge to understand if there is something coming under the radar.

Almost every hooker is attached or know some criminal here, and for them you are "easy money", many hookers will induce you to pay things and at the final bill everything will be overpriced and you can even get robbed at the end.
