IExec and Amazon AWS aren't competing at all at the moment.
In it's current form, iExec is a decentralized version of Amazon Lambda.
It's a massive decentralized processor that does large scale off-chain computations for dApps.
Like e.g. pic related, a smart contract could never do neural network image recognition on it's own, but with iExec it can send a query to the iExec network, get back the results, and do things based on that processed data. (e.g. if at least 5 people on image, send people token to a address)
