Yes it will. A deflationary currency hedged against the hyper inflation of the USD. BTC doesn't even need to grow in value, just be stable at a certain point. Then, as the dollar continues to lose true value due to its continued hyper inflation, BTC will be with an exponential return in the same currency. Simple really. That's without any utility on the BTC side like it being an all in one transaction protocol, or upcoming lightning nodes.

bitcoin represents the finance side of cryptocurrency. if cryptocurrency as a class is going to be valuable in a pure monetary sense, it has to be bitcoin, nothing else. if bitcoin fails to maintain its value the illusion is broken forever, or at least a generation or two.
