the US' water infrastructure is crumbling and needs to be replaced, and africa is in dire need of water infrastructure
water is vital for survival, agriculture, and sanitation, and is used in a variety of industries, such as the refinement of petroleum and the production of chemicals and paper
investing in water is making a long term bet on a limited commodity that's becoming increasingly scarce and is literally the backbone of human civilization

We're just now leaving an era of "cheap money" with historically low interest rates where companies would've been retarded not to take on debt. Now they're actually starting to pay off their balance sheets in lieu of rolling debt over because interest rates are climbing again. Most companies that have the means to do so are now aggressively paying down their debt so that they won't have to roll over as much when their next bonds reach maturity. The companies that are able to do so will be fine and the ones that have free cashflow issues plus high debt will be prime candidates for shorting.

tl;dr
$4 trillion in bonds need to be refinanced in a rising interest rate/slowing economic environment. Companies will have to spend cash managing debt instead of growing the business.

theres a bunch of articles about it
either way, this is essentially what ive been saying for months

ive noticed ETFs that hold hi yield assets have been shitting the bed, sometimes going completely against the market that they usually track

if you look at how these "credit cycles" work, as the hi yields finish these little boob formations and move down against the market, vol will increase, and then things tend to get ugly when they plummet into the center of the earth

Oh boy Peter Schiff is a FUN rabbit hole.
He predicted that BTC would drop to 1000. Obviously he is incorrect about that.
https://www.chepicap.com/en/news/2356/why-peter-schiff-s-latest-bitcoin-prediction-of-1000-is-wrong.html
He lost 60% to 70% of customer assets in a two-year period when he was supposedly making correct macro calls. It isn’t just that he made disastrously bad timing decisions. He violated one of the basic rules of investment management, which is diversification (as of the last time his account results were made public, his picks represented only 2 bets: energy and gold, and that via small gold stocks or trusts). And he also appears to loaded up his customers with lots of risk. If so, he might have violated “know your customer” rules.
https://www.modestmoney.com/peter-schiff-full/38659/
He has never not said the economy is about to collapse, and just runs with this notion that he was the lone economist predicting the recession, time and time again, which is a proven lie
https://beinglibertarian.com/peter-schiff-serious-economist/
Just quoting from and posting the sources to some good rebuttals of Schiff. He's a fucking joke. If I listened to him I'd be even further in debt and would have no assets at all.

if you want to prove or disprove it mathematically, we need to make sure the samples are to scale, but thats impossible because we cant even find ONE woman who started company as CEO

If I ever decide to do some crime such as illicit funds or illegal guns I'd use btc. Otherwise I won't touch it due to volatility. Leaving anything in BTC for more than a day is a recipe for disaster.
However, even with all of that pessimism I hold, I cannot discount it as a reasonable means of currency that has enough backing to prevent it from falling much below 4000 at worst.

It has value because you and the person you trade it to has value. Just as gold has value. Ultimately that old saying about something being only as valuable as its use still does apply.
If we dig up the old goldburg discussions from this morning, the saying goes that should the end of society as we know it situation ever come to pass (Unlikely) then what will be more useful? A piece of gold? Or some asset to trade such as a horse or bullets etc? (Note: Substitute whatever you wish here. End result is it is something of actual use). On its own, gold is only useful in conductor purposes and a few other means. It has no practical use save its stability. We have merely agreed that gold has value and that the value is worth X. Where X is any measure of worth we wish. Be it a horse, a house, or a shotgun.
With this understanding of value, we then come to understand how the credit theory of value was formed and how modern currencies such as fiat or Crypto come to exist.
Save an end of the world as we know it scenario, we inevitably find that a btc has more value than a piece of gold because we are in positions to agree and control the price better.

sounds like you are listening to fools on stocktwits too much. It's Ford. They have so much financing going to even pretend like you understand how their financing is setup is laughable.

The debt isn't a problem for Ford.. its their damn pension and employee stock options killing the stock price. Look at O/S count from 2 years ago and then look at it now. Ford has always had "alot of debt" some companies just operate with alot of debt, thats just the way corporations work, doesn't mean they are unhealthy it's just the way their business model is setup.

Due Diligence on spectral events

Mars will make its closest approach to Earth for this year on July 31, coming just 35.8 million miles (57.6 million kilometers) away. Such a close approach just a few days after opposition means the July 27 alignment will be your best bet to see the red planet shine its biggest and brightest until 2035.

Also on July 27, fortunate sky-watchers in South America, Africa, Europe, Australia, and Asia will get to see at least part of the longest-lasting total lunar eclipse of the 21st century. Sciency paper in relation to the moon
http://eprints.hud.ac.uk/id/eprint/17215/
>We employ recent data from 59 international emerging and mature stock markets to provide new evidence of a lunar cycle (full and new moon) effect on their stock market returns. Using a TGARCH model, we further examine the linkages between efficient-market theory, calendar-related effects and investors' mood resulted from moon phases. The empirical results show significant full moon effects in 6 markets, and significant new moon effects in 8 markets. In line with the theory, we report significant positive effect of new moon on stock market returns in 5 cases (UK, Switzerland, Bangladesh, Chile and Cyprus), while a negative effect of full moon is reported for the case of Jordan only. In addition, we find that lunar effects are strongly influenced by the calendar anomalies (Monday effect and January effect); several markets -mostly emerging markets- show evidence of full/new moon effects as well as Monday/January effects (Bangladesh, Brazil, Chile, Tunisia, Belgium, Cyprus). Further, we prove that the lunar phases are stronger outside America. These findings are recommended to investors, financial managers and analysts dealing with international stock indices.

comf you gotta learn more about how corporations exist. hi debt and a good credit rating is dope as fuck. theyll jusy issue bonds ad-finitum. most of the big classic high debt names do this kind of shit. they just pay interest only payments on their bonds, then roll out more bonds to pay back the principal to the last batch.

the problem then comes when FEDs endless summer of free money dries up and suddenly the burden of proof is on every one of these high debt memes that may or may not be good for it. in TSLAs case, their recent credit downgrade has made it so they likely cant issue more bonds.

but seriously, ive been telling you for a while to learn more abut bonds/debt. ford is absolutely a shit stock, but their debt isnt the main problem at all

you guys are underestimating a company that survived 2008 with zero financial assistance (although the auto cycle does seem like its winding down

Yeah, I never said debt was Ford's big problem, I just said I wasn't interested in buying it because if it's debt levels
I'm probably being slightly obtuse about it on purpose :))))))))))
Between Moody's, Fitch and S&P, who do you think is the most respected in rating debt?

info: Records have been set in practically every metric for auto loans, as of late: Americans owe a record $1.1 trillion in loans; a record 20 percent of new car loans have 72 month terms; people are overall paying record amounts for a new car; and a record 6.3 million people are 90 days or more behind on their loans.

At some point I'm going to short a big subprime car loan company I think. Not yet I don't think

just look at whatever makes any sense to you, look at how their bonds are trading and try and guage whether theyll be good for it on the way to maturity. if we start seeing yield blow outs, its bad news generally. THATS when debt becomes a problem. when no one wants to buy it off you because its too risky

this is what is happening across the whole junk bond market rn

This is the hilarious shit about subprime car loans.

It’s a remarkable figure. Credit Acceptance anticipates on a yearly-basis that one-third of the vehicles it finances will end up repossessed, sending the more-times-than-not-financially-inept consumers with already-bottomed out credit on a devastating tailspin that makes it all the more difficult to ever recover from.

seems like less of an issue since its construction crews and contractors buying commercial vehicles, who buy trucks (huge margin vehicles) almost exclusively
ill admit that i dont know much on the financing side of the companies, but they are doing better business wise, leaps and bounds ahead of the 2000's, not only adding jobs, but also rebuilding factories from the ground up due to the factories old ages

ill admit i may be biased, im a big ford fan personally, ever since my older brother bought and restored a 69 mustang, even though i live in GM territory

Yeah I was just looking at deliquency rates on subprime auto loans and it was lower this year than in 2017. It doesn't look totally bad but it might get gross over time. I definitely believe it's near the end of a cycle of auto sale growth.

best part too is that its all the small banks that are gonna collapse this time (since theyre the ones actually giving the loans), not the large ones. all kinds of random normies are gonna get sucker punched in their savings accounts if its not spread out enough

Well, if they have lots of defaults, they have to then sell all these depreciating used cars into a weak market.

Right now the businesses work though. It's one of those things I think depends on a lot of things happening before it's a trade unless you are Nostradamus.
