NEET here

how important is it to wear a suit to an interview? I don't own one and I dont even know the first thing how to buy one. Is it ok to just wear a clean t shirt and jeans?

A suit is very important for a big number of positions, what are you applying for?

Dress as you would dress every day if you get the job. Clean White or blue shirt, and a pair of BLACK jeans is fine.

At least wear a collared shirt for fuck's sake

>> No.10410308

>>10410280
it depends on the position, and of the interviewer's expectancies

>> No.10410315

It depends on the job. If it’s a very high paying/prestige gig, it’s necessary. If it’s a mid-low middle class tier, you can usually get away with a dress shirt and tie. Never wear a t-shirt or jeans to a serious job interview.

If you live near a major city go to suitsupply

>> No.10410344

i am going to tell you what none of these fucking faggots can even think about. Always wear a fucking suit no matter what the interview is. Its just one more thing that makes you stand out and it shows you took the time to get dressed and are serious about the position.

buy a cheap, simple suit online, have local chink tailor to your size. nobody can guess the fucking quality or gives a shit, only the fit matters, you will appear more organized and disciplined than t shirt applicants.

Go to Walmart and buy a white button down shirt, black dress pants and a tie.

Wear the ugliest you can find, and, if possible a du-rag and some grillz.

a bunch of zoomers itt try to act like big game by pretending you have to wear a suit, when in fact it can be so bad as to be a disqualifier
what you need however, is to be properly groomed and clean

OP, you should wear something that makes you look smart. For example, a Rick & Morty t-shirt. Do that and your chances of getting the job will increase by 40% easily.

Depends on the job.

Most jobs you'll get away with a nice business shirt and slacks. Most high end/ professional salary positions you'd want to wear a suit

Don’t worry you won’t need a suit unless you are in a people facing job like sales or white collar work like accounting and finance. You will likely be wearing some apron of sorts. Might as well as bring your own to show your dedication to the profession

Jeans or chinos and a shirt that fits you, so no baggy arms, no belly/back fat rolls stretching it, no absurd prints or colors, a casual shirt(I find korean neck type shirts to fit the best with a casual look). Couple with a man shoe or a simple sneaker if you look young. Wear a belt and a watch that suit the rest. 100/200 USD.

Bullshit. I've gone for plenty of high-end IT interviews and always worn very sharp tailored suits and ties. You'd be laughed out of an interview rocking up in anything less.

It doesn't necessarily mean that you'll need to wear it on the job day in day out but at an interview you're trying to present your best self. And nothing says more unprofessional and immature than going to an interview under dressed.

Spend a decent amount on at least 2 decent suits, don't scrimp. Looking professional and well dressed is half the battle. Your suit is your armor and people simply treat you differently when you look like a professional.

>> No.10413600

>>10410280
Considering you're asking if a t-shirt and jeans is okay, I will assume you don't need to wear a suit for the position you're applying for. You DO need to dress nice though. Dress pants, a plain long sleeved collared dress shirt, tie, belt, and dress shoes. This is absolutely essential for any job interview.

>> No.10413620

>>10413592

will the managment see you as one in a million. can you do things that your coworkers could never do in thier lives no matter thier effort? then it wont matter. only fags and untermensch need suits to get hired at top firms. if you are really a master autist prove it to them.

>> No.10413669

>>10413592
and to add to this, it's all about the fit. Go somewhere decent and spend the money to get it tailored properly. Don't just wear something that you picked up off the rack. Pick only navy or grey, no black or anything weird.

And never take job advice from plebs, take advice from people earning at least 6 figures. I've always gone to my interviews with a proper suit and it definitely makes you stand out. Employers have commented on my good presentation and beyond that wearing a good suit actually gives you confidence which means you'll perform better in the interview.
