Too slow for my taste, considering most indexes grow twice as fast

I more biased to LMT, but it's been crap to me since march
I'm +%20 total from LMT, +%126 from BA, so I'll have to say BA
(Bought both late 2016)

But I like LMT more, since if any company is going to figure out cold fusion, it's LMT, and then they'll be able to print money (not that this will ever happen though, realistically)

Ford is nice for dividends too, if you own a certain amount of shares for over 6 months, you will get discounts at dealerships, I think most car companies offer something similar
Gotta be careful with auto companies though since they are so cyclical

but regardless of the broker you use, your trading data will be delayed by at least a few seconds. and even if you have instantaneous data via faster-than-light technology, the price is actually the price of the last trade and the stock may never trade at that price again
the risk with market orders is the trade may never execute

I put about 10K into my dividend portfolio per year and then about 10K into my mutual funds and then 5K into my Roth IRA.

theyre stocks that are delisted or havent been listed. sometimes OTC stocks will be legitimate compnies too, but from other countries, like nintendo, or the proxies that a lot of burgers have been using to trade leafland weed companies.

more often than not, theyre hopeless stocks that will die, but you can find some that arent totally doomed. and its pretty easy to get +100% RoI in a day if the stock is worth one tenth of a cent.

fugging...

Either this garbage sector is about to nosedive for the second time this year or there is a big oversold bounce up coming. I haven't chosen to gamble. RSIs are too goddamn low this cannot continue. Every stop loss I set yesterday triggered. I then caught a bunch of falling knives (different knives) this morning. mfm = clic / hlox
vol = sum(volume, fag)
volk = vol / fag

These retards attempting to price a car by how it looks after you tear it down. These morons realize that there are probably 5x the labor costs going into each one of these things when compared to a regular car right? Especially when a company is manufacturing in one of the most parasitic states for taxes on one of the most expensive pieces of real estate to produce one.

I guess since I posted my weekly gains, it’s fair to say this was obviously a YOLO. I spent all weekend calculating some hypothesis about NFLX. I took the hypothesis that it would would miss expectations or barely meet them, and in the former case I said it would plunge a lot, and in the latter case it would go down a few percent. I bought OTM puts but misjudged IV and sold them too later after open. I lost from the cost basis and was depressed, but realized the volatility was very low and NFLX was creeping to a recovery. So I dumped $2000 into a YOLO play of 7/27 $400 calls, since I read articles all morning about how this was “a good buying opportunity” and how people were still “bullish” about NFLX.

Cashed out around 450% up. It was briefly even higher, but I couldn’t sell fast enough. They ended the day only about 250% up since volatility crushed again late day, so I sold very near the option’s peak.

Don’t do what I do

Agreed on AMZN but it simply is much more of a company than Netflix. Netflix makes shitty movies and has a few cultural touchstone TV shows, but Amazon is a good company that surely is overvalued yet could slide into blue chip territory if it wanted to. Not like APPL has, not overnight, but there is a lot of backbone to Amazon. Solid, asset, logistical, and even cultural backbone.

Netflix falls and FB/AMZN plunge with it, because it’s sold the myth it deserves to belong with the other three. You can make the case for papa bezos, you can’t make it for red Hulu. It’s gonna be a popular stock to short one day, but they’ll have to miss more earnings first.

But if you look at this year the VIX contracts have all rolled over to roughly equally priced contracts since they expire monthly.

This could mean one of two things, we are (back to normal), meaning the rest of the year is now set to 2017 settings, or a bunch of people think VIX is worth holding onto through earnings.

are you comparing to spx or spx futures? should be normal spx or else youll see rollovers their too
Im thinking the Vix is going to 11 possibly 10 again as we retest and rise above the spx top

Also how does this effect things like UVXY which arent futures contracts but based on the underlying VIX value? Do they suddenly make 15% just because futures decide to have a different bid/ask?

no, they follw the normal vix and not vix futures. Even if they did, it would act like a cfd and your buy in would also change

Endo bottomed and is finally beginning to turn around. Sure it's nearly doubled compared to recent months, but that doesn't mean it's done. In reality it's only re-achieved where it stood a year ago. Endo has massive leverage with over 8bil in debt, which will eventually turn over into significant upside. All major lawsuits are behind it and GAAP profit will soon be restored. Then there's Xiaflex - future cosmetic drug for cellulite expected in 2019. That's the true catalyst.

Endo is certainly more of a longterm play though, and you'd likely be able to find a better entry over the next 6 months. I'm sitting on 50% gains right now, but wouldn't be surprised if I'm looking at 500% in a few years. Of course 100% loss is also a possibility.

Understandable, but if you're just looking short term there are much better trades. Not much retail interest in this sector at the moment.

>Understandable, but if you're just looking short term there are much better trades. Not much retail interest in this sector at the moment.
i research my companies deep. after years of trading i learned it's better for me, for my personality to make sure i do my research and increase my probability of being right rather than just guessing. Sure I would say there are some better trades in the short term, but will i be able to catch them in time at a good price and understand them enough to get out at the right time? probably not. I try not to chase much hype, i try to do my research and fuck the crowd. The biggest gainers for me in the past have always been the ones that nobody seems to notice until it's too late. so if the sector is "dead" sometimes i see that as an opportunity seeing as i'm not trying to be caught up in every trend hitting the market everyday, i like to scale in and sleep well at night.

But what do you see for a trade for the next week or so? i might give it a go if i see a set up.

I'd say research works for small cap/med cap stocks that are less well known. Large cap is all emotion. Some companies get absolutely butchered no matter what they do (T) while TSLA and FANG can do no wrong.

I don't like it when you post this for the sole reason that you type
"1 dollar" instead of "one dollar". I've refrained from ever replying because I know that as soon as I let you know that bothers me, you will take pleasure in typing it wrong. Fuck it at this point, this is the only (you) you're getting. You'll get bored eventually, such is the way of men.

also to add to that.. i rather take those 50% gains and rotate it somewhere else. The longest i like to hold a stock is 8 months.. even that is a long time. I have some stocks that i trade while keeping a core.. but why not lock in some of your 50% gains and find another company? i never understood why people don't do that with stocks. I own real estate and never think about selling it and looking for another property because liquidity isn't there neither is opportunity like there is in stock market. To get the full potential in stock market i see it as a rotation device, you can rotate money quicker.. if i wanted to sit on an investment for 5+ years id buy real estate that generates income.. not a stock.

i don't usually fuck with anything over 2billion market cap i'm more of the under 500mil market cap type of person...

Think if you are trying to get 100% on a stock that has 5billion market cap that means you need $5billion to flow into that stock.. at what rate will that happen? on what kind of news..

It's more likely that a stock sitting at 10million will double over night due to it only needing 10million to double. i'm not in stocks to find the next big thing or for dividends.. i'm in stocks to rotate money. thats it. I don't find trading stocks that gain maybe 10% a year special. Everyone has their own style, but i'm not for that guessing game.. big money fucks with large stocks way too much imo

Thanks for this. This is really interesting. I wonder if some smart dickgirl can figure out some maths to find when VIX is starting to have backwardation. That would probably be a good indicator on when to buy or sell index contracts.

I just rebalanced my entire 401K into essentially a money market fund (a not too bad one owned by my company which gives 5% annually guaranteed). I can't take the market bubble anymore, it has to pop soon.
