>please include cover letter

Do the HR assholes even read those things? What's the fucking point. I thought they get flooded with resumes and they have to skim through them quickly for details that pop out. Why would they waste time riding a cover letter?

>Spend 45 minutes filling out application
>Spend 1 hour filling out pre interview questionaire
>Spend 20 minutes doing skype interview
>Put on good clothes, make yourself look nice, research the company in order to have questions to ask and go to interview
>Get interrogated by boomer for an hour
>"Sorry, we decided to go with someone else"
It's like they don't value our time at all

Networking is still the best way to get jobs. But you need to use the internet to network. Figure out the events that people in your industry go to online and go there. Join the social media groups that people in your industry hang out in and network there. Sending out resumes is retarded.

Yes, for the 2% of people in the whole world that have those connections it's great. For the rest of us that spent all of that time actually learning the skills needed instead of bullshitting, it's a little bit harder.

You missunderstand what I said. I implied you need to network FROM SCRATCH. You google events and go by yourself and cold approach. You join facebook groups / linkedin groups / reddit groups / wherever the fuck your industry hangs out and you just join the conversation and make friends, FROM SCRATCH. Networking when you already know people ain't networking. It's called doing nothing.

I usually spend a day applying to stuff online, then the next day I find out the adresses I applied to and walk in and say hello, hand in my resume and tell them I'm interested. It's given me more interviews but nothing has gone through yet.

This year has been rough guys
