Bitcoin ETF is the ultimate cope of cryptocucks. Yeah, it will make it easier to buy bitcoin. But why would anyone buy it? Why should it be valued at 6k, let alone 20k? There's absolutely no reason. It's completely useless.

It won't just make it easier to buy Bitcoin, it will also provide insurance against loss of coins.

Isn't GBTC already doing this?

>> No.10266524

>>10266455
Last I checked, GBTC couldn't correct their NAV. It was up to the market to decide if the premium their trust was valued at was fair. This new instrument can hold BTC in proportion to their valuation as their valuation relates to a basket of OTC (Gemini?) prices.

Also, GBTC trades OTC and so there's problems with that in risk assessments.

If this new ETF goes live, it gives us a hope in hell of buffering BTC against things like the incoming Mt GOX coins, and paves the way for lower price per share ETFs that retail investors can back with tax favoured accounts. A lot rides on this one.
