Ok so battle plan for tomorrow. SPY took a major hit after testing a high today. I'll be looking at short-term SPY calls for about the first 1-2 hours of trading as it tries to recover from the AH hit. I'm not even going to try and time the second test perfectly. Quick cash and get out. SPY puts, UVX/VXX/VIX calls all. fucking. day.

Merger with Albertsons on August 9th. Albertsons will not have been a publicly traded company prior to the merger, so despite RAD having lackluster numbers it is going from being worth 2.3 Billion to 24 Billion. I sold my shares early June and am just waiting to see what happens. I have no clue whats its gonna do, but people have argued both sides. That merging would be to hard for the drastically different companies, but some suggest that they could improve their own supply lines and secure more exclusive deals together.

Of course the deal could fall through or different competitors could make offers, I really have not kept up enough to know exactly how many variables are on the table.

I'm waiting for 15.10 to 15.08 once I get out of a few positions this week. So many trades so little capital haha.
Meme lines confirm. I miss volpocalypse it was fun (wojaks) and I did my best during it. No LARP had really good consistency. By friday ill have a general consensus on the oil market. I hope to be more accurate. I called it pretty close last time. That flash crash came a little sooner than I thought thanks to Trumps Shitpost (TM) off by a day... guaranteed profit if short at 15.10+ may have to hold for e days max. Also every a.m. till about 11 it goes up then dwindles down. Like pottery. I gotta do some homework again but I'm going to put more shekels in and play oil again...

What you're describing is gambling. You can minimize risk and get a better than 50% shot at being positive, but that also minimizes your chance at profits. And it's more than not being negative. Are you beating inflation? Are you beating the market (this is genuinely very hard to do consistently)? After factoring in time and opportunity costs, might you still just be better off in an index fund (probably)? The regs here are all admitted degenerate gamblers who do this for the high because we're fucking junkies

I have a habit of being right on gut feelings. Having a better understanding of risks is separate from that. And I might have worded it poorly. I don't need money now, I just need to make investments where I can reap returns, no matter how small in a short frame of time so I can have something more than nothing to invest while I'm still living my daily life. Everyone tells me I need to do something that puts my skills to good use and basically all I have going for me are being great with numbers, understanding what people will do (not why though which sucks), and having a stupidly high amount of luck.

wanna see something spoopy?

everyone always says theres no correlation between put/call OI ratio, but i say, there is. you just have to factor in that options have expiry. thus, the big moves down or up in p/c OI signal probable big moves around corresponding expiry (just gotta scan for those hi volume put/call writes when they happen and look for something around their expiry). but really, its less the value of the ratio, and more the general trend when compared to historical data. theres less put writers out there in the market because less people are bullish

pretty interesting to look at market sentiment evaporating like this over time.

Look for stuff that's oversold, has hit and bounced off of support, and is primed for a reversal.

Check out CAT and T, they're at good buy-in points right now, should be an easy 10%-20% gain on both of them. If NOK drops below $5 then it's a strong buy IMO. I like swing trading IAG from $5 up to $6+ anytime it hits $5.

Just find some stocks that seem to trade in a range and/or routinely fall back to some predictable support and then bounce 10%-30%. Put them on a watchlist or set price alarms for when they're getting close to that support and then make a decision on whether or not you want to trade it that time around.

My current bets are on it rising to 40-50 from a good earnings and I would try to dip or at least lessen my position before lockup. A bad earnings would fuck me, and could happen. However, if they offload a shitton of shares even on positive news I'm sure the price would drop to compensate for the new volume. That can happen September 25, so I need to have my shit done before September 10th. Daytrading can be profitable, but it has to be methodological and opportunistic. You have to take advantage of things in the market that don't make sense and have to be resolved.

For example:
> USO soared as oil soared but oil soaring did not agree with near term futures. People panic bought when it pumped. Current price was going to exert upward pressure on near term futures and futures were going to exert downward pressure on price.
> VIX spikes very quickly but decays slowly. The decay closest to the spiking event is fastest. Set entry and exit points to limit losses and make a bet that it will go back to normal once it's already on its way back down.

if you need some of that money to live tho, sell enough to get by. you can always make more money to buy back at lower prices.

yep mostly all price action with it GBR, some stocks i watch mostly Level2.. some stocks i watch "sentiment" how many people start spamming it everywhere... GBR is mostly just price action to me, i think either today at end of day or next morning will be a good time to buy,it's a long trade, i'll trade the spikes on the down trend aswell as the spikes on up trends aswell as the spikes during accumulation with GBR, been doing it for 3+ years and don't plan on changing that.
