not a new currency but a backing of the fiat. before central banks got the permission to print fiat out of thin air it had to be backed by gold. gold reserves went dry as countries started cashing out bonds. the dollar would be backed by bitcoin in this scenario.

The thing that gets me is that we have already given away so much business and technology for next to nothing in return. I've seen it over the years especially in aerospace. Forced to give up entire programs because the big wigs signed off on it. Then the chinks turn around and reverse engineer what they can while letting other portions fall to pieces. So much damage has already been done. Imagine if we had never put our foot down like this.
