This makes me feel good knowing every shit coin is focusing on oracle's now. This means no matter what, a Oracle is the next step in the blockchain.

So whoever solves the Oracle problem will actually be fucking massive and it's likely gonna be chainlink regardless of what you plebs say because "normie friendly".

Correct. If link solves the oracle problem which they most likely will then it actually is the next big thing. Anyone who doesn’t agree is either trying to fud because they’re still accumulating or a slaphead fucking retard.

>> No.10142626

Even EOS has built in oracles using same method that Steem used where node/block producers had to find their own API data and the system would agree on the majority that seemed right. If you started feeding data youd lose your big paycheck as a block producer.

You guys werent really buying an oracle only coin, were you?

lol now im definitely selling my MKR

is this guy one of the devs? sounds like hes spewing a few buzzwords to the plebs while lowkey dissing his competitors.

>chainlink is focused on making an easy to use oracle, not one that is maximally secure
>what is decentralization

this guy thinks 14 nodes confirmining one piece of data is superior to possibly thousands?

You don't know if they 'most likely' will solve the oracle problem. They're working on it, and you'd be stupid to not have a small stack, but we don't know if they can solve it AND implement it well.

Don't think I've seen a better team. Dedicated guy to do the talks and business. Dedicated programmers building the project, waking up at 5:15 am doing GitHub commits. Completely open source software (always are built faster) and the first movers since 2014. Website registered since 2008.

Plus decentralization, secure hardware nodes and overall a much better solution that's focused on security and tokenization. Tokenization approaches are better because we're using existing technologies like ETH instead of starting from scratch with a new blockchain.

Chaincode adapter script will take 2 years to build. The adapter code to ship will take 5 years to build, debug and build. The debugging process will take at least 3 years, due to the complexity of it. Its a huge task bro. Microsoft has been working for 8 years on the shipcode arrangements for their own products and they are still working on it. The future is questionable.

isn't this what Vitalik was trying to say?
Projects that desperately need oracles will build their own. Those that don't really need oracles wouldn't have used chainlink anyway. That doesn't mean there isn't a market for chainlink, but that market is not as big as people believe.

Of course it isn't. Yet. Smart Contracts are young AF. Half the things they will be used for aren't even close to being functional yet. This is why 2020 is where this shit BEGINS. You are literally holding the next ETH. It takes a couple years for the world to catch up. Just like it did for Ethereum.

>> No.10143731

>>10143514
I get what you're trying to say, but here's the problem. The distribution of money. Let me give you an example to better illustrate my point. BAT bagholders seem to think that all the advertisers in the world will buy ads through their ad network. This will not happen for many reasons that I won't go through now. The other issues is that money is concentrated and not distributed evenly. In digital advertising, around 80% of the money goes through Google and Facebook while leaving the rest to fight for scraps. BAT will compete in the scraps tier not in the Google and Facebook tier.
That's what happens in most industries. 80-90% of the money goes through 1-2 players while rest fight for 10% or even 1% of the marketshare.
I envision a similar scenario with Link. I've seen retarded valuations touted around here in the order of trillions of dollars because "muh link will disrupt whole industries". That's not how this works. Those industries that will benefit from oracles will probably build their own networks because they like money. Microsoft is already making moves in this space. I see link being used for small and hobby projects while slowly becoming "the wordpress of oracles" in 10 years. Link being used to disrupt trillion dollar industries is unlikely to happen. This might be the next ETH but not for the reasons that people believe and not in the time-span that people believe.

my 2 cents

It's not decentralized OP. They are saying it is but the 14 nodes are actually theirs, making it centralized. I was a bit surprised because I took the Reddit guy at his word but if you read it's obvious he is talking about using 14 nodes they own.

TLDR they are are as decentralized as EOS.
