My job double paid me my last paycheck, and a week later I still have all the money and nobody has said anything. Does this mean I get to keep it

depends on your laws. you might have to pay it back + interest if they catch you or there might be a time limitation in which they can claim it.

>> No.10116016

If no one complains might as well keep it, keep it off limits just in case

Some affiliate marketing company sent me double checks once. I waited 30 days or so and no one contacted me. I then contacted them, they said they didnt know how it happened, thanked me and told me they canceled the checks. I shredded them etc. They went bankrupt a year later and screwed me out of some my last checks. Not sure if theres a lesson there or not.

Spend it all on hookers before they find out. If you've already spent it, they can't get it back.

you can either:

give it back now and say you didn't realize
or
try to keep it and when they eventually, inevitably catch you, feign ignorance

>"oh my goodness I'm so sorry I didn't even notice"

>> No.10116282

just say you didn't notice when they do their accounting...and by then it'll be so far down the road that you'll also have probably spent most of it. They'll figure out how to either A) take it out of your next paycheck or B) apologize and swallow the cost -- they will actually apologize either way. You made no mistake. They fucked up.

what kind of company? what job? remote?

>> No.10117070

Check your local laws, no one on here probably knows shit about such situations. Where I live (Eastern Europe) such erroneous deposits can be demanded back up to 3 years later regardless of whether or not you have spent the money. If someone sends you stuff by accident, then you don't get to just keep it.

They will find out. It will be very awkward for you.
Then they will not pay you for a week.
Best to find a new job.
