It only cost me a quarter to INSTANTLY transfer money from their bank account to mine, and I know it's not going to lose 70 percent of value while waiting for a confirmation for 2 hours.

Tell me why the fuck anyone would ever use crypto again?

they won't, crypto is vaporware. China is 90% cashless and it works extremely well using tencent pay or alipay. Real estate and stocks are better investments/holder of value. If you believe in SHTF then gold and bullets are better. Crypto has and will always be vaporware.

Regardless, you're setting up a strawman here. The point of the crypto space is decentralization and trustless execution of societal functions such as sending money or anything that can be done with smart contracts and oracles. Venmo nor any other centralized system can accomplish this - The only way is by giving everyone a private and public key and creating a decentralized system that resolves true state based on consensus. For basic online payments as a use case, crypto feels like a step back.
I can make instant payments with minimal to no fees using multiple different options (and Paypal and using my credit card aren't really that bad)

The only times I've chosen to pay with crypto over using my credit card, is when I wanted to stay anonymous (e.g. when buying youtube views, I also see dnms as a use case, etc)

But ever tried transacting with semi-large amounts?
- I've seen Paypal freeze an account for making a several $500 payments within a few days repeatedly.
- I've had my bank threaten to freeze my account for a $7000 deposit from Paypal, unless I provided documents detailing the source of funds.
- I've even had a bank teller call her manager, who pulled me aside and interviewed me very thoroughly like I was some sort of criminal, just for depositing $2500 in cash.
- I've even had Paypal freeze an account for no reason at all, and will only unfreeze it after I identify my US taxpayer status

So I want to support the belief that crypto can fight the banks. Because I DO have that use case that I want it to succeed at.

Also true.

Crypto will find it's use case perhaps, but not with the normies. They need their insurance blanket and confidence and noone will refund your Bitcoin if you send it to the wrong address or don't get the product you paid for.

I, unironically, have a massive stack of crypto ($50k worth) and have been playing devil's advocate. Venmo is so much simpler, cheaper, user friendly, and instant that I am starting to believe that it will take a very long time for any legitimate use case. I got into crypto because I needed to buy illegal substances online, and I fell in love, but aside from that, I haven't found much of a use case for it. Even hookers prefer cash, none of them have a Bitcoin wallet, unless you go to Vegas or something.

Literally nothing will. You have to be of importance and 99% of people don't matter they are poor with 1k in their bank account. VENMO is great FUD because it's the truth. It's easy, secure, and you can trust it. If something goes wrong they'll just reverse it. This is real life with real money. Look at Trezor. Someone BGP attacked it and it looked exactly like the trezor wallet site and prompted you with a firmware update. When you put in your seed to recoup your wallet. Boom, funds are gone. This type of shit is not going to fly with mass adoption. Nobody is going to put any significant money on the line except for us retards here and possibly make one wrong click and lose 100k. You have to be out of your mind if you think crypto is better.

Now smart contracts, different story. Those could change the world and maybe they will and in 5 years we'll be looking back at this thinking how ignorant we sounded.

So true, these pajeets and white niggers think they will get to hold 10%+ of the "one world currency" that they developed in a basement and governments and everyone will just be ok with that. The only realistic chance would be if everyone on earth got an equal share of a crypto project but that's hard to pull off and will be expensive to do that much KYC effectively.

What the fuck are you talking about fag.

That's the whole point, it's hard to move/steal so that makes it a GOOD store of value. It also has great physical properties (every electronic system you own has gold in it). You can make gold bonds to represent it's value and transfer value faster. You can also insure gold.

Bitcoin offers none of that and on top of that some fuckwit hacks you or puts a keylogger and you are fucked.

Btc was always ment to be a currency, until people realized it was slow as fuck and started this 'store of value' meme. Fuck you cumrag sockpuppet.
