How much do you owe still? $24k seems a little excessive for a rainy day fund if you can easily pay off a car with $10k of that and end up paying less overall

I was up for promotion last week that would have bumped my wageslave stipend to 65k but management fucked me. So still 50k. I dunno if they want me to quit or what but I'm not giving them to satisfaction. I'll sit on ass and day trade whole shift until they work up the gumption to actually fire me. That trip will be the best money you'll have spent so far in your young life if you swing it right

air bnb's and hostels are cheap as hell--Wales and parts of Scotland are cheap, eastern Europe is cheap, Spain (especially southern spain) and Greece and Portugal are cheap

use bla bla car (ride sharing app) to get around

Most of my money in shares are in a vanguard high dividend ETF that pays about 7-8%

So thats 14-16k from dividends

and the cash is getting 2.78%

which is about 5.5k

= about 20k

if i put it all into the ETF i can get about 30k passive income

it's Australian dollars thought so in US dollars its 25% less

When I bought my car, I got it just before the new models were going to be released and the dealer just wanted the old shit gone. I got a 0.9% yearly rate on a 5 year loan. Financially it made more sense to get the loan and leave my money in the market, even though I could have easily paid for it.

Debt is not always a bad thing.

Oh I see. Not very knowledgeable on ETFs or the stock market for that matter. However if that much gets you 20k Australian dollars, All I have to do is get 600k USD and put it into high divdend ETF's to get 30k a year AFTER taxes as passive income. Basically enough to retire for myself. Am I following it correctly?
