So /biz/ I got an offer for a company that pays 10k more than my last.

Back in May I was laid off with the official reason being "departmental reorganization" but my boss was never high on me and my last performance review was a mixed bag.

Now my new employer wants to do an employment verification.Couple questions:

>Will they reach out to my old boss who will most likely hate on me?
>Is a departmental reorganization considered a layoff?
>what actually is found out in an employee verification?

probably not, they would use the reference you provide
laid off is different (better) from fired
mostly that you haven't lied on your resume

Ok so the next question is I listed 3 jobs titles that I had at one organization for the past 5 years, but one of them (the middle) was an interim role that lasted about 6 months and I'm not sure it was given an official title change (I was filling in for someone).

the employer knows I was filling in and it wasn't a permanent position, but it may just appear as the first title I had there when inspected upon.

Is this a big issue? Essentially I was given a different role temporarily but officially my title may not have changed in our system even if my job did (I listed the temporary role on my resume) and no one who worked with me in that role currently works at the company.

nobody will give a shit, other than sounding impressive job titles are meaningless across organizations.
what matters is what experience you gained that the new company can use.
so no
