In the video sergey also mentions that they've worked on the project for 3.5 years. You are both wrong, it was owned by Nick Szabo originally in about 2000. The domain was re-registered in 2008 6 days before Satoshi announced the Bitcoin project. In 2014 Szabo transferred ownership to Sergey, which also happened to be around the same time Satoshi "poofed" .
