And you guys need to remember that Elastos did not want to be making waves until the project was basically completed, which is right now. Of course it went through many iterations. Rong Chen openly admits that he has made mistakes in the past and learned from them going forward.

*teleports behind you*

From the presentation, this is the main difference between nos and elastos. nOs is a browser based operating system like EOS where everything will run on the main chain. Elastos is an all purpose and all encompassing OS/runtime that can not only act as a browser based OS but also as a native android/iOS app along with IOT devices integration with main chain and sidechain solutions. In addition, existing apps can also utilize elastos sdk to integrate with elastos Blockchain easily. nOS could actually benefit if it runs on top of elastos because then the dapps wont have direct access to the internet, thereby increasing security for the DApps built on top of it. So, it could maybe theoretically be run in elastos platform as a sidechain solution. So, both could work together similar to how neo smart contracts and elastos platform could work together

A, why do I need an OS on an OS?
B, you know how shit vista was and you trust this guy?
C, how will I torrent with locked down digital rights management... I don't want to support that.

>> No.8937518

>>8937418
A. With the elastos OS Dapps are forbidden from accessing the network so they are 90% less likely to besubject to DDoS attacks. There is also no need for IP addresses so users are far less likely to get hacked. If you can't see how that'll be valuable in the future where all devices are connected to eachother, stay poor
B. Valid argument and I have that concern too. We don't know his level of involvement on Vista. If he was the architect that'd be a concern but I'd doubt it. More importantly is that China doesn't have their own OS really so this would be huge for them for a country with such big pride. Also what's most important about the OS is that it's coded in C++ so that it's safe and compatible with Android.
C. Torrenting and illegal downloads will always exist, so don't worry

so if I access the internet through elastos I can't use a vpn and elastos or the government I am in (via elastos) can ban or hide internet content? Maybe websites are pay only due to elastos digital rights.

>> No.8938516

>>8938327
Elastos OS/runtime isn't really used for acessing the internet, but instead uses the internet to run dapps. So the Dapps and digital assets would all need to be registered/ use the blockchain.

>> No.8938641

>>8938516
So if I run a dapp over elastos instead of the internet the benefits are: no denial of service attacks, hosting?, easier to charge users a fee for the app? But if I just run the app over a normal website anyone can use it and they don't have to run elastos.

>> No.8938675

>>8938641
But with Elastos you can have scarcity and digital assets. So it'd allow you to run a media player with movies, books, and videogames that run on the blockchain - which most importantly you could sell after you've watched, read, played them

That's super idealist man, but think of it this way. Now individual content creators can personally monetize their creations, instead of big conglomerates. Everything being free is just not how humans will ever work because their needs to be economic incentives
