Pros and cons of EOS? Can we get an actual discussion going on this. I’m on the fence about buying some, but it feels weird investing in a platform that isn’t Ethereum for me. I feel like EOS will have a hard time drawing in developers and projects because Ethereum has such a huge first mover advantage.

Why should I, or shouldn’t I buy EOS?

Massive con: the token is worth nothing on the network... Read the whitepaper, not even kidding.

Pros:
- It gives us a DPOS chain you can use for any complex app
- Lots of real use cases not covered by eth or anything else atm

Cons:
- No builtin way of getting data from outside chain. Still needs oracles.
- DPOS is a voting system. If the community votes for the right people it will be good. If they don't it will be shit.

The salt is real.

Check the EOS testnet. Fuck it actually, copypasta time.

Here comes the EOS redpill:

1. Will be faster than ETH will ever be (millions of tx/s)
2. Weiss ratings: EOS is *only* crypto to tie, and later SURPASS ETH.
3. $1B capital injection program for EOS projects.
4. ONE BILLION DOLLAR CAPITAL INJECTION PROGRAM FOR EOS PROJECTS.
5. No transaction fees.
6. Not vaporware. The testnet for devs has been out for months. Mainnet launches in June.
7. Can host Facebook on EOS.
8. EOS has partnered with big VC firms who will pick winning projects to fund.
9. Google co-founder Eric Schmidt has partnered with EOS through his VC firm TomorrowVentures. He provided a quote for an EOS press release.
10. GOOGLE CO-FOUNDER ERIC SCHMIDT IS PARTNERED WITH EOS.
11. Most VC funded EOS projects won’t do ICOs, they will airdrop to EOS token holders. Think of owning EOS as owning NASDAQ and receiving free stock in everything listed on it.
12. EOS tokens are real estate on the EOS blockchain. They give you access to EOS network bandwidth for dapps. You can rent your EOS out to devs for passive $, in addition to $ from EOS VC project token drops.
13. Real estate is better than fuel. You don’t burn it, you hold it for incredible gains.
14. Mike Novogratz (CEO of Galaxy Digital, former Goldman Sachs partner) & early investor in ETH, announced $325 million EOS fund. He sees potential in EOS over ETH.
15. Richard Jung, former CEO of Bithumb, joined Block.one to lead the Korean community.
16. EOS is the biggest thing in crypto since Bitcoin, and will probably flip Bitcoin and Ethereum.
17. Elite developers are excited about EOS. Much more so than any other platform. This includes Ethereum, Cardano, IOTA, Hashgraph, etc. EOS will crush all of them.
18. $100 - $1000 by 2018/2019

tl;dr EOS will probably brute force its way to the number 1 spot.

*Actually* screen shot this. It’s 2018 and /biz/ is still skeptical of and ignorant to the next big thing.

Should I buy EOS on an Exchange or rather contributed though the Token Distribution on their website?
How does this shit even work, can someone explain?

>> No.7756137

>>7755684
How does it work? They explain it very well. If you are so dumb or unable to read, dont try.
The ICO has high probability of saving you few cents, and low prob of wasting you some extra cents. It is worth it in a semi-stable day or when BTC is in green.

I was rather asking about the token distribution and if it is worth it.

EOS has massive 10X-100X potential

I think EOS will be $50 right before June 1, FOMO will be real leading up to June 1

High risk, high return. Actually it's not really that high of a risk since Dan "The Man" Larimer is a blockchain genius with proven track record of designing scalable solutions

Jeff Bezos said "if given 10% chance of getting 100X return, he'd take that chance every time"

While the eos network will possibly succeed, has got a solid codebase etc, the token will not.

Their idea of staking: they keep paying token issuers for airdropping tokens to eos holders. The money will be the one you paid for tokens in the eos ico.

This is 100 percent arbitrary. There are no code is law consensus or whatever based mechanics to price or brnefit generation. Just some guy deciding who gets money and who not. And hell will the free airdrops be valuable, if issuers go for that deal (insteas of selling the coins in a free market)

EOS is for people who didn't get the basics of market economy.
