>higher than Ethereum+two biggest L2s combined
>despite this it easily maintains subsecond finality and 10 cent fees
>lots of DeFi innovation on the C-Chain (yeti, platypus, hubble, trader joes next gen AMM) + more are coming
>900+ Subnets in the works and each of them will lock up 2000+ AVAX per node
>staking ratio is already 64%

AVAX sells for $29.14 right now, so why arent you buying?
are you aware 1 AVAX will be $3000+ in the not so distant future?

hello AVAX cuck
How is the Turkish Lira doing? is the $200/month that Emin is paying still enough to cover living expenses?

my personal advise for you is to sell your AVAX and buy some MATIC instead. Polygon has the superior technology, the funding and building teams that AVAX lacks so badly

$250 if bull happens (unlikely, I know)
$40-60 if BTC continues to crab like this
$15-35 range if another fatass dump happens

BUT all this doesn't price in eventual news. Emin said something about world-changing new tech on Youtube 2 weeks ago; it's probably something big considering his dislike of retarded nothingburger partnerships just to pump price.

>How do you know?
I spend my days stalking IC3 people and their work.
Basically what happened is that Ted Yin was working as Intern at Facebook and invented "Hotstuff", the fastest classical Protocol (better than Tendermint which Oasis still uses).
Eventually Libra was canned and the tech put on hold and Ted Yin moved on to invent the Avalanche Consensus (around 2018) and then became a founder of Ava Labs.
of course Facebook didnt stop its Libra efforts so they teamed up with Oasis Labs to get things moving again, and thus Dawn Song basically took over the Project.
Oasis didnt implement Hotstuff yet but according to the Oasis Labs Whitepaper its a possibility they have been looking into.
Check this quote out from "The Oasis Blockchain Platform" WP:
>"It is possible to replace it with another consensus mechanism, e.g., Libra HotStuff [5], instead of Tendermint, with very little impact on the rest of the system."
If you read between the Lines here, this also means Avalanche/Snowman could be implemented as "another" consensus Mechanism too and the best way of doing this is Subnets, which further fuels my theory that it will indeed become an Avalanche Subnet at some point in the Future.
so maybe "stealing his homework" is the wrong way of wording it, she just took over it and didnt do much with it in the last 4 years, the fact that they are still stuck on Tendermint is a big clue how far behind they are in understanding the tech, although you gotta keep in mind that the Consensus Mechanism isnt everything about Oasis but its just one very critical component that will prevent it from ever reaching mass adoption if not fixed with a Subnet.
(FYI if it becomes a Subnet, ROSE wouldnt become useless or anything).

>I will check that out.
you dont know about Z"ion"Cash?
Its an old IC3 project and was meant to fill the gap between Monero and BTC and replace both, which of course failed. Its been more of a "too little too late" kind of problem with them.

I don't understand why ppl think Joe has any utility especially after all their VC bullshit, tokenomics, launching, scandals, etc
Same applies to the entire avax ecosystem, there isn't a single token worth investing in over avax, it's all an elaborate ruse to get you to hand over your precious avaxxies
yak was the only one that looked promising since they had the best launch, no VC cancer, only community members and held actual utility, even now with their swaps and yield farms and such but they added stupid niggercancer like mini yak and other defi aids that is completely un-necessary and makes it look like a chinese shitcoin
xava, ptp and a few others also seemed promising at first glance, take a glance at their tokenomics and you'll see how atrocious these shitcoins are

This is a great analysis, thanks. It was interesting looking up the Ted Yin/Hotstuff connection.
Regarding switching consensus mechanism to Hotstuff, why would they need to? Pic related is from the Oasis Rose primer. They claim their instant finality is bettee than Avalanche's "sub 3s" finality.

50886897

>>50886247
>is from the Oasis Rose primer. They claim
that Screenshot is wrong and poorly researched and I think that is because they see "Avalanche" as just the X Chain.
Avalanche is leaderless and many chains, a Block can be proposed at any time so the finality on Avalanche is under 2 seconds and if your Blocktime is 6 seconds (at Oasis) than your Finality cant be instant.
Avalanche is as close to instant as it gets.
"Sybil Protection" is also wrong because Avalanche is "Proof of Stake" and the DAG has nothing to do with it, the X-Chain is a DAG, the P-Chain (manages the staking) and C-Chain (EVM) are not DAGs.
Avalanche is also literally unlimited chains (think Blockchain as a Service) and Subnets are completely customizable and can run any VM written in any language.
the next one, Privacy. Avalanche actually has some Privacy thanks to X and P Chain crosschain transfers. also Privacy enabling Subnets are possible and some are already in the works but as already mentioned Oasis could just become a Subnet itself.
the 4500 tps is also by far not Avalanches Limit. Subnets and their Validator sets are fully customizable so hardware and tps can be easily pushed further.

so now that we solved this I can answer your question:
>Regarding switching consensus mechanism to Hotstuff, why would they need to?
Tendermint and Hotstuff cant Scale beyond ~100 Nodes but Hotstuff still brings some improvements, you can think of them as a normal bicycle and some raced out bicycle. in the end its still both bicycles and one of them might go a bit faster and work a bit more efficient but it doesnt beat Ted Yins maxxed out Formel-E Gliders/Autobots on the Track. the powergap is really that big.
Generally speaking Oasis Problem is that they actually want to do the Privacy stuff which makes a lot of Sense but they are bogged down with the Consensus question and Scaling Question. Making it a Subnet is basically outsourcing these Problems to someone who solved em.
