If you had invested $1000 when r/buttcoin was created you could have retired now.

the point is that a community dedicated to making fun of something, could have been rich if they didn't make fun of it.
Which means that r/buttcoin lost.
I mean, there is no better way to declare a victory by Bitcoin than the constant rise in price for the last 9 years

Everythings fine I haven't even thought about u guys sense the last time I saw this thread a month ago.

most of /r/buttcoin are ironic holders and traders
there is the occasional lost idiot that really thinks he is surrounded by nocoiners who are making fun of bitcoin, but this is an illusion

/r/buttcoin is a form of cope for people who get burned by the market

imagine, just for one second, to be such a hateful, spiteful person that youd rather spend time hating on something than to allow yourself to see just a tiny bit of utility in it
hell, i think the divide between the rich and the poor is significantly hampering human progress and i think its, plainly said, unfair that some are born and inherit condos while others are born on a sheet of cardboard. this doesnt mean that i consistently hate on armored cars.

just imagine spending all that time hating something, patting yourself on the back. i read that buttcoiners are on this moral highground where, whether bitcoin goes up, or down, they win. why? well, its a scam, so if the price goes up, it means its a working scam. dumber people are buying in. if the price goes down, it means the scam has ended. also, no discussion whatsoever about decentralization, corruption, supply chains, voting, nothing. just price price price.

t. started buying at about 1500 usd last year, kept buying up until 10k, started buying again at about 8k, still buying, im either an absolute retard, or the financial risk i take will be rewarded
i just wish bitcoin would stay stable for a couple ears, no matter at what price, because those phases of stability is where trade happens and real discussions about how we use zero trust systems to build a world where some punk politician controls the wealth of entire generations and pockets 10% (brazil, f.e.) becomes simply impossible, and inefficient

rant over

>If you had invested $1000 when r/buttcoin was created you could have retired now

If you had invented then you would have sold far, far below the peak, made a small profit and be telling everyone you would be rich if you held it.

What exactly is /r/buttcoin? A community for people that DON'T engage in an activity? That's pretty pathetic, never mind the fact that it's Reddit.

i like your perspective
i share it too, even if i'm in eth rather than btc
no matter what, decentralized programmable money is an incredible idea
of course i'd like it if it made me rich, but i'd rather be invested and see it fail than sit on the sideline. money isn't that hard to make through other means, but crypto is a chance at a better world

its not a ponzi its just too late to get rich on it anymore. for average people the ship sailed back in 2011. the only people making money on it now days are rich people.

>> No.9985835

the entire concept of bitcoin is flawed. it didnt scale so they had to create an overlay network where users spend fake bitcoin backed by real bitcoin. so no people are buying money to buy money to use money.

get out now while you still can.

no you wouldnt have, it is almost impossible to actually cash out even today, especially true back then
