Popular brokers for stock trading:

Robinhood
>commission free and no minimum to open
http://www.robinhood.com

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

Mental health has gotten a little overblown. Perhaps we have a problem because we are forced to conform to a strict set of lifestyles?

Autism, bipolar, schizophrenia suck for the suffer in this day and age. But the world owes a fuck ton of respect to these types for the creativity they produce. The chads just speculate off their backs with VF and stocks.

Native Americans believed these groups were mystics and seers and were treated better than average because of their visions/insights.

my plan as a long-termer is to hold my positions and stop buys, allowing new cash to accumulate but not selling and allowing divs to reinvest. that way, if market is down in future, i have some dry powder to burn and can buy low, while also auto buying lower through my auto div reinvests. if it's higher then they invest anyway and i have more cash for when things go south. seems pretty win/win to me.

I think paying off debt is in the correct location here. You need an emergency fund to live, really, and that's more important than paying down debt. And 401k matching is literally a 100% return, much better than a 10% rate you'd get from paying off debt.

Ideally you dont get a lot of debt in the first place, too.

if you're in significant debt with an average or high interest rate you're giving away so much free money that it should be first. what good is an emergency fund if it's going to paying the interest on debt?

You literally need the emergency fund to live. You can just declare bankruptcy for the debt. But you absolutely need the cash to pay for any unexpected expenses.

Its the same for any business, if I see a business's balance sheet with under $400,000 in cash I'm instantly worried about that business ability to survive, even if they are debt free.

>> No.9950874

losing your job is one unexpected event you need an emergency fund for
regardless, it should take about 1 year at most to save up $1,000 so the intrest is negligible
you might be paying off debt for 10+ years if you got it bad. living paycheck to paycheck and not having an emergency fund for 10 years is, quite frankly, insane

>> No.9950957

So what if the goal isn't to retire, but to die in a drug fueled orgy? Couldn't I just use the emergency fund to pay for that?

>> No.9950999

>>9950957
I used the 10 year figure because thats when intrest matters most. if you only have 2 years of debt, the intrest from delaying paying off debt is fairly small and building an emergency fund is fine. if you have 10 years of debt, you need to build up an emergency fund first.

consider the following 2 senarios
>you dont pay your debts and build up a $1000 dollar emergency fund and then get laid off
you declare bankruptcy and live off your emergency fund for a while while applying for unemployment, etc
>you $1000 towards your debts and have $0 in cash then get laid off
you declare bankruptcy and then die because you cant afford food

im waiting to see if itll rally before going short again desu. the super long ones (1year+) move pretty gradually though and you shouldnt have to worry about theta even if theyre OTM. id probably go ATM though, just so you get some actual delta on em.

but i think that should be pretty safe. just make sure to buy them when IV is REALLY low, because with the longer contracts, vega becomes a pretty big factor. i assume that silver and metals will continue sliding as we keep the rate hikes going, but then again, the dollar WILL fall at some point. and it will fall HARD. and SLV and GLD are both heavily manipulated ETFs, so whos to say if it will inverse dollar for the whole time. silver in particular seems to have a mind of its own, and only really lines up on major reversals

Their rise is being backed by pure hype.
Chinese companies have no market beyond their borders while US tech competes and dominates on a global scale -- giving credence to their massive evaluations.
Additionally, Chinese companies have a super sketchy interplay with the Chinese government, which I will never trust.
The Chinese stock market is substantially more emotionally driven than other markets.
To top it off, WSJ said there hasn't been a better time for tech companies to IPO since the height of the .com bubble... These Chinese companies have hardly had any SEC filings come out since their IPO to display massively strong earnings growth like the kind driving NFLX, AMZN, and NVDA, but I wouldn't trust them anyways since Chinese companies are so notoriously rife with accounting fraud; thus, they are insatiable hot air balloons and driven by pure hype and speculation.

Netflix had some backing for their growth -- the earnings growth really is pretty strong.
Unfortunately, it probably doesn't back how much stock price growth it actually is getting.
The market cap size for these companies already is inflated to begin with since it's understood that earnings now are sacrificed for significantly greater earnings later. However, now that NFLX is actually getting some strong earnings growth, I think that investors have something to point at and an excuse when people accuse them of "irrational exuberance"

>Problem is the bomb won't go off for a very long time
I have no idea what it'll take for the damn thing to correct. I feel bad for the poor suckers that actually try to short this shit. People have been saying it's overvalued since $350 and it just keeps pumping.

And yes, normally a company with better than expected earnings will see higher growth. However, with the way the markets are these days, the opposite tends to hold true.

Just give up trying to rely on quarterly earnings and start looking at fundamentals. Debt load, CEO competence and future plans are far more critical long-term than quarterly earnings.

Right.
They don't literally "print money."
They control the money supply by buying treasuries which introduces cash into the world.
The treasury owns the literal money printers, but don't really control the actual money supply.

And they currently are actually trying to sponge the money back up a bit with rate hikes

Fuck yeah it was. Choking on your own vomit is fucking serious. You'd be dead if you weren't face down.
Look up what the "recovery position" is. I was a lifeguard for 3 years, and there's a special way that they teach us to position unconscious people so that the vomit can properly drain from their mouth and they don't drown in it.
I don't know if it's as effective if you're on your own though, since a lifeguard can at least monitor a person and make adjustments if there's a lot of it or they fall over.
