To deserve its valuation, it would have had to produce ~1 million dogs per day. Every year, every American would need to buy a dog. A kennel city would be required and the farms required to feed the dogs would be their own industry. America would have had to shift a significant amount of its outputs to dogs for dogs.com to work.

When investors figured this out, they panicked.
