I sold my bitcoin at 19k.

I didnt hold my entire stack until then, i was selling off periodically but i kept 1.2 btc and told myself I'm just going to hold onto it.

I saw the climb to 10k and it seemed enormous, but I kept on holding. It flew past 12k, then 13k, 14k and 15k and I was amazed. But i just kept on holding. Told myself this 1.2 btc is not going to make me/break me so if it dropped to 0 tomorrow I wouldn't care.

Then it flew past 15k and one day after I was a bit drunk from a night out at the bar I came home and noticed it climbed a bit past 19k. I had a feeling in my stomach that this was it. I remember 2016 thinking if bitcoin could hit 4k by the end of 2017 I would be happy. Here I was and it was sitting at 19k and I just couldn't believe it. I cant really explain what signals there were other then I just had this gut feeling in my stomach that this was it. This was nearing the top and it was time to get out.

I listened to that gut feeling and lo and behold it was correct.

Actually with some markets you can, if you know how many market participants there are and how much liquidity they have then you can see when that capacity for buying has reached limit. With a new market like crypto that's difficult to say since 'new' money and new participants are coming in all the time, but with something like the bond market there's a finite and predictable pool of participants.

I still have around a bit invested, mainly just BTC and one shitcoin that I believe in. The more I get sober from the crypto craze though, the more I think about selling it all for good. Crypto has zero adoption at all (just look at the user numbers of dapps), it has always just been a huge gamble and nothing else. Feels like everything is simply going to zero.

I didnt retire, but I made a very large sum of money compared to what I had before.
