Anyone here have any experience executing an estate?

I ask because I'm searching for real estate to purchase. I found a promising piece of property that belonged to a recently deceased elderly man. He never married and had no children. His heirs are likely a combination of a bunch of siblings and nieces/nephews from what I can piece together.

His estate is selling his home and property "as is" despite needing some repairs and renovations. Would I be correct in assuming the executor of his estate isn't necessarily interested in generating a the largest return possible on this property as opposed to just a quick return?

Anybody with relevant experience in these sort of matters feel free to chime in!

it's best to use poison or lethal injection
trying to get an entire estate into an electric chair, or god forbid situated in guillotine is much harder than you think

You made a mistake posting here son. You see, this is /nubiz/. We dont discuss real estate or actual equities here. We're a bunch of early 20 somethings with less than 2k in assets, mostly invested in some worthless garbage shitcoin we saw spammed here by chink or pooinloo shills. you're literally never going to get the response you're looking for, /nubiz/ isn't for that kinda thing.

it depends on who is the executor but if the people who are inheriting want to sell the property they often want it faster. I've never made an offer on an estate sale personally but you are sort of correct in your assumptions

check bigger pockets not here

Hard to know how to answer this question without knowing more about the situation. Certainly plausible but who knows?

Maybe this is obvious but advice would be to do whatever you can to make this as simple and straightforward as you can for the executor or administrator of the estate, and do everything businesslike.

lol you're probably right. kind of ironic you say that about crypto though, considering the funds I'm using to buy this property are from the fortune I made during the 2013 bubble (all my crypto holdings are now in XMR, as are the crypto assets of most of my friends and colleagues that profited off the '13 bubble with me)

I am an auctioneer and I buy estates for a living. An executor is incentivised by a 10% cut of the estate. Just like an auctioneer, he makes commission. Likely, the price being cheaper or more is less important to this being an intelligent investment and more if it is an appropriate property for what you want to do with it. You may be able to get a good price out of him if he is lazy, stupid, or --- has some kind of emotional distress in handling the estate. Likely he is the executor as someone close to him passed.

New York actually sets the executor's fee based on the value of the estate, between 2-5%

I'm assuming the executor is an elderly sibling that'd rather just dump the property than have to deal with maintaining and insuring it while all the other heirs bitch at her for holding up their checks. Plus if its being split up amongst enough people, the discounted difference won't sting that much as its probably divided 7 ways.

I think I'm going to shamelessly lowball them like a jew. than you for your input /biz/
