This is Smokey, he was one of a litter of 7, only one of whom survived.

Mama Whiskey was a stray I took in, and her babies were born with worms. We didn't know at first, and they were too small to treat, so we did everything we could to keep them happy and healthy but it wasn't enough.

November 12th through the 16th was the most painful time in my entire life as Potato, Johnny, Luna, Rez, Smokey and Turtle passed away from Anemia, each comforted by us and their brothers and sisters and mommy. I buried them each in fine linen, with silver and flowers.
Their sister Stella is here with me now, healthy and strong. She's a big girl now and she loves eating shrimp and sleeping curled up by my head. It's my mission to give her the best life I possibly can. She deserves it.

My neighbor's cat hangs out in my yard and leaves mutilated dead rodents strewn about.
