apparently people who are now holding Tether.
at least 13% of volume in the last 24 hours has been between BTC and Tether, probably in that direction too. Tether has gone up 6.44% against Bitcoin in that time.
at least 9.36% of BTC volume was paired with USD.
Now of course this is just 'markets' and doesn't include Localbitcoins. But it gives you some kind of idea of where the money in Bitcoin is flowing.
Word is that the people who sold are the ones who were buying in at 9000 and have finally realized that they're never going to break even so they're panic selling - I don't have a means of verifying that (is there a wallet explorer that can aggregate how long people have been hodl for, you should be able to crossplot that against the price to see if people who entered the market before the bubble burst are those selling now I guess).

Over at coinmarketcap headquarters they have an enormous vault filled to the BRIM with all the worlds currencies. They have a super advanced AI (runs on a private blockchain) robot custodian that oversees the amounts and distributes them properly between the exchanges. To say that the 50 billion dollars just *disappears* is ridiculous, what actually happens is that coinmarketcap & ROBO works with an exponential managment fee and THEY take YOUR money. This is why Elon Musk warned against AIs
