Popular brokers for stock trading:

Robinhood
>commission free and no minimum to open
http://www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on cash/securities and fees from their Robinhood Gold service

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

Interactive Brokers

I missed the train. I don't like crypto because it's a ponzi scheme designed for holders to shill about how much money they made. At some point it reaches capacity and like all pyramid schemes it ends.

It will hold some value but the run is over. If you made money in the run, great move, but it's not anything more than that. Are you telling me random coins that anyone can knock off in a month with a good operation are going to hold value?

Bitcoin has no capacity for growth anymore and it's not a good currency for many reasons it would have to solve.

On the road for work, but I do have AMD as like 10% of my portfolio, I share at least a portion of your confidence. I just think an end of year target is a little too soon for the requisite scenario to play out. Midterms almost always cause insane gains that last till the middle of the next quarter. After that it almost always dips/crashes. If your gonna see 30+ on this bull run its going to be in Febuary.

Another tip: Always search the space from the both ends. From the origin point and an imagined end point. It's hilarious humans haven't figured this out yet and codified it into common understanding.

If you are searching an imaginary space, you need an imaginary end point. You do this automatically as a human via imagination but might not realize what you are doing algorithmically related to complexity reduction.

no there are other reasons thats consumers fell. 1 is acquisitions, which is a huge buy signal and thats the reason they take on debt.
The other is their huge cash flow like that of PEP or KMB, that are so good with money they can raise dividends for eternity

another reason they fell is increased costs of gas transportation and commodities

This is a benefit. That means I can sleep without my investments tanking. I'm glad the market closes and I have weekends to do DD at my leisure.
> trade illiquid volatile stocks,
Wut? Some stocks are volatile others are not. Stocks move much more predictably than crypto. And liquidity varies based on your broker and margin requirements. Why would I need instant access to those funds? It's called being an adult, having good credit (and a large line of available to draw from) and managing your finances. If you mean liquidity to sell a stock and instantly use that money to buy another, then I already have that ability by having margin.
>abide to rules such as buying whole shares, or whatever, instead of just trading contracts on Bitmex
Again, why would I want this? Why buy 6.8 shares of a stock instead of 7?

I dont see any benefit to trading crypto. Its unpredictable. 99.9% of ICOs will fail. Why gamble and hope to find the 1 that makes it? I understand stocks, I understand the businesses that I buy and the markets that influence them. I can more often than not make reliable predictions and profit off stocks and know when to buy, when to sell. And if I'm trading companies I believe in and they have a bad couple days or a bad week, they recover on their own in time. Unlike crypto.

They are trying to close brick and mortar stores and focus on their commercial contracts in office supply and delivery. Which competes with amazon. I don't see how BitMex could be profitable if it literally pays you for making orders on the service.

>risk-adjusted profit
>what?
It's how much profit you get for the volatility and risk that you put up with.
To go from the volatility and risk of bonds to the volatility and risk of stocks, how much more would you have to be guaranteed to make on average to take the riskier investment?
This is similar to why junk bonds have a higher yield/"dividend". Since there's a greater risk that they won't actually pay you back a single dime, they have to pay you even more on the occasions that they actually do pay you.
I think there's more to it than just "which one goes up more on average"

But the server market isn't going to adopt AMD fast enough this year to get us there
Especially since there is no graphics announcement this year to cause a stock spike

if there's a transaction fee, that usually gets added into the price. for example, if you paid a $10 transaction fee, you'd see that included in the cost basis.
also if you market bought, you'll often pay a higher price than the last trade. you can place limit orders to avoid this.
finally, if you market buy outside of normal trading hours, you'll pay an even higher price than the last trade due to worse liquidity.

yeah a $10 trading fee gets split between 2 shares as $5 per share hence $13 + $5 = $18
if you're trading on a US exchange, market hours are 9:30AM-4PM EST
a good starting place is to set a limit buy order a little below market price, so if the last trade was at $13.12, you can try $13.10. of course, here you risk the order never fulfilling. another idea is to place the limit order at the highest price you'd be willing to pay, say $13.50. there you'd execute at the lowest bid, so you'd probably end up paying $13.15 or something. a third strategy is to low ball, say $12.50 if you're willing to wait a few months to buy and you think the price might go down.

since you need to pay $10 commission, consider saving up for large purchases, say $1000 USD each so you are paying 1% or less in trading fees. also consider doing long term holding instead of day trading. if you live in the US, consider using robinhood which doesnt have transaction fees.

Look at netflix/tsla valuation. It's not rational but instead hype.

Elon Musk is high IQ enough to understand markets. He knows they need meme fodder to keep the price high, so he over-inflates the future possibilities. Tesla if it was valued at what it's worth this instant would fucking crash. Elon musk has a long-term plan and the only way to do that is to con everyone. It's not that he is doing it because he cares about the stock value. He's simply doing it because thats what the low IQ people want and only way he can run a long-term strategy with a public company.

basically this month he will hit 5k cars a week. Once he does that the low memory market will suck his cock off. He will go on JRE a popular podcast (+8% value on that alone) once he hits 5k cars a week.

I agree. What I didn't anticipate was people actually believing it for so long with nothing to show for it. And no one calling him out on the numbers. 3500 cars a week was only for a single week in early may. Tesla hasn't broken 3k cars a week since then. I think his plan is to have everyone pull a ton of overtime for a single week to hit the 5k target just so he can say he hit it then dip below 3-4k the following month with no one caring. But even doing this, I don't think they're going to make it. I admire the trick Musk has played. 5k cars/wk is no longer par, it's a win.

I'm planning to increase my short position if the stock hits 375 and again at 400. Cutting my losses if it breaks 450.

Wew not yet. Intel does 14nm finfet and is struggling for 10nm finfet but AMD subcontracts its manufacturing to GloFo and TSMC, who very overestimate their technology. Currently they are about at the same level (intel 14nm vs GloFo 10nm), but it may change if TSMC successfully delivers 7nm.

Also this leap of generation will barely increase performances because a sizeable number of issues still haven't been adressed (bulk losses, contacts pitch and access resistance vs Vth).

Everything you mentioned besides HULU has completely different content. You could make an argument for youtube red not being complete shit someday maybe, and sports are a completely different market. For someone who uses potential monopolies as their go to argument it seems odd for you to ignore the massive market share for the type of entertainment it provides that Netflix holds. Believe it or not their are tons of alternatives to amazon, it just so happens to be the front-runner, just like Netflix. I don't even fucking own it, I don't think it will grow a ton. We are having this argument over how you consider Netflix to be a television channel when it draws more views than 80% of television channels combined. Will it lose some of its market share total to competitors? Go look at Nokias market share from 2009. I afford you that a company can lose its market share and collapse from pressure due to competitors, but to deny the current market presence on nothing but assumption that they will winningly choose to not innovate and expand while all their less prominent competitors will is ridiculous. Bet if you want to, but don't pretend to be some soothe sayer who can name the day a major empire will fall. It could be overnight, in 50 years, or never.

Good post. No larpo. Didn't think about that desu

How much bigger can amazon really get?
They already dominate e-commerce.Their increased profits are coming from exploiting that monopoly. Is there a lot of overseas growth expected or something? This isn't even considering that their marketshare could suffer at home. "Primeday sucks now. No good deals anymore." Everyone has heard this from one of their friends. Still a buy short term, but expect holiday sales numbers to not meet estimates.
Their current strategy seems to be spreading into other sectors but how much can they really make on that end before the competition reacts? And how efficient is that spreading? Does anyone really think Whole Foods is going to be a cash cow? Yeah, I get it. Grocery delivery to your door is the goal. People canceled their Blue Apron subscriptions a month in. How is this play any different? Margins? There's already a ton of competing grocers with razor thin margins ready to suck the customs amazon bleeds.

On the retail side people are expecting them to automate delivery, reducing the cost a huge amount and making it 24/7 any hour and minute delivery.

I think AMZN's strategy from now on is indeed to try to spread into other sectors.

They will use the cash flows generated by their present dominant positions (ecommerce and cloud services) to fund their acquisitions, compress the margins and rape their competitors.

Currently they aim at breaking even. Once they achieve a dominant position in the new sector, they will hike the prices up. And then they will proceed to another sector and repeat.

The gold rush was last year, retard. If you had a few more brain cells you'd have cashed out your gains above 10k and ploughed them into stocks

Plus, the real potential winners in direct groceries delivering are food producers who can avoid getting their sale prices dictated by retail. In my city we have vegetable and fruit producers delivering twice weekly bags of fresh products on order at a lower price than retail already.

>AMD
Hi guys, my first post to /smg/ after lurking for two months.
You are talking on AMD, but what is your opinion on the shorting opportunity on INTEL? - from technical perspective it is just breaking down from a massive long term rising wedge, pic related.
I was a fag and took screenshot with my paper trading trying to hear your opinions (I am new into stock trading, decided to dedicate 1 hour each day to learning risk management, trading psychology, FA and mainly TA and + 1h each day for DD and paper-trade for 1yr before going in with my own money on interactive brokers trading CFDs (I am europoor)).
thanks for your opinions on that rising wedge on INTC
