Popular brokers for stock trading:

Robinhood
>commission free and no minimum to open
http://www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on cash/securities and fees from their Robinhood Gold service

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

Interactive Brokers
>$1 commission per 100 shares. $10k minimum to open, $3k if 25 or under. Lowest margin interest. Free API access

I’m a noob but...
I don’t trade trends much, mostly ranges, but either way I tend to cut myself short by a couple of percent. It forces me to exit before the trend reverses.
Example: if I buy a stock at $10 and I think it’ll hit $15 I’ll place a limit order for $14. That way I’m not scrambling to sell when it reverses and lose more.
The best way is to decide what kind of profit you want to make and force yourself to sell at that. I like 10% but I’ll accept less. If I want to ride it out I’ll set a stop loss for 10% to lock in the profits and let it go.
Main thing is not to beat yourself up over a few percent that you could’ve had, you’ll inevitably hold to long and get burnt.

Started playing around with stocks in 2009, made some decent returns back then but also made some stupid decisions, I was desperately poor from about 2011-2013 so I pulled all my money out and didn't do any trading then. In 2014 I turned about $8k into $125k with some extremely dumb luck gambling on sub-penny stocks and then I cashed out, paid off my house, and didn't touch stocks again until August of 2017 when I put $25k back into my account and started "seriously" trading in my off-time.

Ok, let me run you through this real fast:
You google "investing", you read a lot, you youtube "stock investing", you search for relevant courses online, and in the meantime you pick up bits and pieces of valuable information and valuable sources and learn to discern them from sh*t ones... do this for years and years. Browse amazon, you'll find enough lectures. Finance studies wouldn't hurt either, at least so you know how to read financial statements, and what's a "share", but you can learn that elsewhere as well.

Meanwhile, you trade, than you invest, you loose some, you gain some, you learn what works and what doesn't. Do this for years and years as well.

Than, if keep at it long enough, and manage to not loose everything, despite marketing coning, shit advice, misguidance and at times shaking hands, you eventually "git gud".

No problem bro.

Oh no, it was incredible luck, I was gambling on sub penny stocks on the pink sheets. The one I made the most money on I had several million shares at an average price of $.0017 and it got picked up by some pump and dump newsletters and twitter pumpers and went to a little over $.04. The other one I made decent money on I averaged in at about $.0040 and sold at around $.02. It was legitimately gambling with probably worse odds than a casino which is why I cashed out completely after that and used the money to actually better my life rather than continue gambling and eventually lose it all.

To be honest I was kinda on my last leg at that point, behind on my mortgage, no real prospects, in a pretty deep depression, and would've probably just offed myself once I lost it all and my house got foreclosed on but I really didn't care either way back then.

Chinese tech usually reaches 20-35% of the value of it's American counterparts.

Considering $IQ just began, it has a long way to go.

Just look at normal patterns and make a decision for yourself. Only high IQ should invest in $IQ.

Imo, it's not really worth going for any non-directional volatility options strategy on Crude.

Movements like that can just come out of nowhere, when there's no news driving the market's trend. A lot of spoofing, use of iceberg orders, and stop hunting goes on in Crude futures, it's what leads to those wild movements.

This. Never buy farm-end stocks. Only buy people who are marketing finished and packaged products. Legitimate farms get cucked by all the Laotian guys who cut illegal flats into a hillside in Trinity County and pump 600 plants with MaxSea. The only farms worth investing in are boutique organics, and those are best invested in on a personal level (shaking the guys hand and giving him cash).
I went from trimmer to farm/property manager over the course of 5 years. Weed industry is shit and very very few people know what they are doing. Look for guys doing organic no-till soil and the like (less than 5% of farms out there).

As for why? "Sell the news" meme and shorts entering position. It's very important to understand that all of these stocks have heavy short interest and those shorts will double down if charts show weakness in order to possibly start a cascade sell off. Secondly, bears are betting on delays with the bill at House of Commons due to a couple of the more contentious senate amendments.

This is actually what happens though. I know several people who have tried to move out there to grow and sell to the dispenseries but because so many people have started growing on their own and sell to their friends the dispenseries have to drive the price wayy down. So far down that unless you grow on an enormous scale you can't come close to competing with those who are established there already. This is also reflected in the prices of weed and related goods falling so much in legal states, example, the price of a quarter ounce going from ~75 for mid shelf in the beginning to ~45 to stay somewhat competetive. The whole industry is turning out to be a tourist attraction more than a revenue source for the state like alcohol or tobacco

Aren't weed firms going to drop in price once it gets legalized/unfederalbanned because a bunch of firms will enter the market at once? Also make sure you take a good look at Virginia firms because we have tons of tobacco land that may or may not be partially converted into pot groweries.

I wouldn't count out tobacco companies either. The grapevine tells me they're planning on diversifying into weed in the future as people figure out cigs are awful.

>>9804200
>Aren't weed firms going to drop in price once it gets legalized/unfederalbanned because a bunch of firms will enter the market at once?
yes and no. there are alot of different companies in the industry, if you look at the ones i posted they aren't just some grow house they are more of specialty hemp companies RBII has CBD scar and pain creams and will be making more CBD products, MYDX has a portable tester to test the weed, EVIO is a lab that test the weed for the clinics which i think is going to be big part in the future of the marijuana industry. POTN has edible gummy bears... every company plays a different part, i just wouldn't really invest in any grow operations
