So let me get this straight. SEC lists ICO tokens as securities, but not those sold in a private sale (what happens to ICOs with bounties and other airdrops?). That means anyone not an accredited investor can't trade them without going to jail, but it also means that if platforms register themselves as securities, institutional money can finally come in.

But because some exchanges are listed off american soil, americans can sell them to foreign exchanges and as long as they keep it off the book (by not withdrawing it directly to the bank or selling it p2p for example), they can still get their money's worth.
