Popular brokers for stock trading:

Robinhood
>commission free and no minimum to open
http://www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on cash/securities and fees from their Robinhood Gold service

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

If people take a greater interest in 10Y, that would narrow the yield curve...
If they go after the 2Y instead, that's good for the yield curve. Also, a decreased interest in 10Y means a decreased price.

If there's an auction tomorrow... More treasuries are being introduced, possibly devaluing those already in circulation.

I think the auction is most likely to help our puts here. Why would people be eager to pick up new 10Y treasuries being freshly dumped on the market, particularly with a widely expected rate hike right around the corner?

I was not aware of the auction tomorrow, thanks a ton for bringing that up!

these dudes who buy bonds at auctions do it in huge lots. if the yield on the 10yr is almost the same as the 20, theres no reason NOT to grab some of the shorter term ones while theyre cheap. especially so with an expected rate hike around the corner. the shorter duration bonds dont get exposed to NEARLY as much interest rate risk

yeah but like i said, these guys who buy bonds do it in huge lots and they "ladder" them. the idea being similar to dollar cost averaging, but with bond yields. the idea is to keep a constant stream of maturing bonds, while gradually increasing your avg yield on the way down as the FED increases rates. that shit compounds when youre buying in million dollar lots.

i agree that tomorrow will probably be a limpdick auction, but SOMEONES gonna buy some, and if they arent retarded, theyll probably go for the shorter term ones. the yields on the 20-30yr ones are about to get way jucier, so theyll probably just wait a month for another hike or two.

either way, since the hike is expected, itll be advantageous to shift OUT of longterm ones right now (as theyre still up from last week by a good margin) and buy up some more shorter term ones

Based Comfy !!!

Also, I copypaste here the reply I made in the video comments about ROAD:

Based Comfy

The anon was from Georgia and in today's earning call, ROAD stated they acquired Scruggs Company. My guess is that anon worked for Scruggs.

I am dissapointed by today's price action on ROAD but my thesis still stands.

The acquisition is very beneficial in my opinion (ROAD paid $0.73 for $1 of Scruggs sales with a potential net margin of at least 5%) and those Alabamian hick management gave a very nice guidance for FY2018 (+23% revenue Y/Y, +50% net margin enhancement).

ROAD has now a solid foothold in Georgia and I expect them to gain market share there steadily.
Balance sheet is still clean and lean, which enables the potential for ROAD to get more aggressive if need be.

I, in the name of AUIC, reiterate my BUY rating with a price target of MID-TEENS™ ($16), with a time horizon of 6 months to 1 year.

The recent pump is from between the CEO saying "don't worry, I know what I'm doing, I swear" and an announcement of a partnership in India that's supposed to help them monetize.

i know its really cool. so if you "turn it" to the left and look at it straight on, you see the yields on that specific day across all timeframes. if you turn it to the right, you see the short term yield curve over time, and by "moving inwards" on the z axis, youd be able to see the various bond maturities yields across time.

I find it to be a very subjective matter. You really have to read the prospectus and "feel" the story the management is trying to tell.

In the case of ROAD, the balance sheet is very light and straight forward (not much goodwill or intangible, little debts)

Management gave out their strategies which I find sensible in their case (I usually hate growth by M&A but since they are buying out private companies which are family owned, I believe in their capacity to strike out a good purchasing price)

ROAD has a leader position in Alabama and they will get most of the bids there. They need money and access to the broader capital market to facilitate their M&A strategy and aggressively gain market share. Plus, their financial reports will be readable by everyone. ROAD's smaller competitors would know how formidable it is.

The CEO is the founder and I feel he is ambitious and wants to be a chad billionaire instead of a virgin millionaire.

can anyone tell me why pic related isnt the obvious outcome for the bonds market over the next few days? it seems the FED has kind of painted itself into a corner here. they have no choice but to dump on all the longterm bonds, and possibly pump up the notes to avoid letting the 2-10yrs yields look too attractive tomorrow at auction.

is there something im missing here? i know this is not what the yield curve is suppose to fucking look like, and i know they have a vested interest in keeping it healthy and curvaceous. the only other option would be to become more aggressive on raising rates, no?

you still trapped in the long USO position?

ive been digging around trying to understand the discrepancy between WTI and brent spot prices. i think ive got an answer, maybe. i think it has to do with us re-imposing sanctions on iran. obviously the OPEC FUD didnt help, but since that leg down, its continued.

its important to remember that US sanctions are essentially a way to attack a country (economically). irans economy DEPENDS on oil, and since theyve been bein "bad goys", we slapped sanctions on them (and their oil in particular). since oil is irans main (read: only) export, this will nuke their economy and leave them starving. and starving people make for angry, sometimes violent (with a little funding and some guns) revolutionaries. im sure you see where im going with this. same script as syria and all of the arab spring (and really the last couple decades).

so i checked the middle east for whats up. turns out iran is responding to the sanctions via upping their own production (1, out of neccessity, but i think 2, as a way to bitchslap OPEC/saudis as well as the US). not only THAT, but theres also news that the SAA is sending in troops to deal with the extremists that are posted up in golan (ie the place in syria with all the oil. the same place that GNE or genie energy (an israeli company), is trying to drill across intl lines, into a conflict zone). and on top of that, i also heard rumors that syria will be selling more oil to the kurds now that the kurds have been more or less hung out to dry by the US coalition.

so what we have is, initially, OPEC just doing what it does to manipulate oil and keep the prices from getting out of control and going into a speculative bubble. but then sanctions on iran (which the UK/EU does NOT have, thus the discrepancy) cause a further crash. and then syria crashes it further. i think OPEC will have no choice but to not increase production as they implied a few weeks ago. they still need it to go up.

yes golan is a big reason that syria was destabilized imo

i also believe that a similar reason (oil) is behind the US coalitions alliance (no longer) with the rojavans/kurds. if you take a look at the land that the kurds were trying to claim as their own, youll notice that its pretty much ALL of the oilfields that are currently under the jurisdiction of shia crescent countries. i can only imagine that we were stringing the kurds along to "help them get their own country" (ie set up another puppet state who would be friendly and trade oil with israel/US/west exclusively, thus hurting all non OPEC countries). obviously thats all out the window right now as the syrians and the kurds are now trading oil and fuel with each other. they will likely be working directly alongside the SAA/russia to kill ISIS faggots and turks.

That will depend on how hard the pump is this week. We're not in mania territory yet. For the spring run, the only ticker showing real bullish strength is WEED/CGC. TGOD started pumping for no reason last week and continued today, which indicates to me the bulls are certainly coming back for the whole sector in coming weeks. The big drop will come when every shit penny stock in the sector starts to 2x+ over a couple days. Last December I hit a 4x on FFT of all things. Which isn't to say FFT is a bad company, it isn't, but it's a startup with limited revenue and a lot of uncertainty with the US market.

Anyway. I'm not playing the big LPs like Canopy/Aurora/Aphria/Cron this time. All of my holdings revolve around industrial hemp, oil extraction, and cannabis-centric biopharma. And FFT again too because I like them.

Thanks bro

I looked more thoroughly into their financial report. I think market ignores ROAD because :
- small cap
- no coverage (analyst coverage silence)
- their Q218 revenues didn't show significant growth

I feel the market cares mainly about cash money and it still don't believe in ROAD management's guidance.
The guidance looks bright and I think they can deliver.

yea i was out of town for a week playing gigs. looks like imma have a busy summer. got a whole weekend of gigs in NYC (5 in 3 days with 2 different bands, can you say $$$$?) coming up next month. and some weird degenerate redneck sk8r festival up in northern maine. then im heading south towards the end of the summer and were hopefully gonna loop around through texas, up through socal and go play a bunch of shows up in the mountains above sacramento during the dudeweed harvest (though this is still being planned).

im gonna have to come up with a nice set it and forget it type portfolio before i take off. no way im gonna be able to trade while im in a fucking van/sleeping on floors

First day of investing, tell me how retarded I am (going for long term growth with dividends, not day trading)

i mean with one share its kinda silly, but youll get the feel for it, and youre not risking much (aside from total stock market collapse)

and how much dividend (after tax) do you think that will gain you ?

DIA 8 bucks on average per year

OUSA. 0.86 per year on average.

and the rest I can't be bothered but similar. It's a nice mix of stocks, but forget about divends for the moment as we are talking about beer money.
