Sunday Futures edition

Popular brokers for stock trading:

Robinhood
>commission free and no minimum to open
http://www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on cash/securities and fees from their Robinhood Gold service

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

No one has ever wanted to have to go out for McDonalds. There has always been a demand for fast food to be delivered. They just never gave a shit because other than some small local businesses, there wasn't any options for it until Uber Eats and similar larger businesses really took off, threatening their market.

Among the demands of the 50,000 members of the Culinary Workers Union are higher wages, better job security, and protections against automation. The workers, whose contracts are up on June 1, are employed by more than 30 of the city’s renowned resorts.

“We know that many hospitality jobs are slated to be automated in the next coming years, so we want to make sure that we’re innovative and thinking about how we can protect workers and their jobs,” Bethany Khan, director of communications at the Culinary Workers Union, told Digital Trends. “Our automation and technology proposals deal with protecting workers. We know technology is coming and we want to make sure that workers are protected and have a say in how technology is implemented in their workplace.”

Kek, minimum wage in the US is $7.25/hr unless you live in one of the few cities / states that has passed a local laws to have a higher minimum wage. If you're working for minimum wage then you usually don't make enough money to pay much in taxes except for the mandatory 7.65% that gets automatically deducted as payroll taxes.

The six months of all 4th quarter midterm elections as well as the quarter that follow have an 85% chance to be a net gain. Not only a gain, these quarters together average a 14% rise. Those numbers are using the S&P 500 since its inception. The grandiose promises of politicians and an uncertain political climate do nothing but bolster the chances of an economic surge. In fact if you look at historic crashes you will see most of them start after the midterms near the end of the next quarter and end after 1-2 years. Nothing is certain and we could absolutely have a dip this summer; however, we will MOST LIKELY have a 6-month period coming this next Autumn of pure unadulterated gains. If we just continue like this until then it will be all but inevitable. My personal plan is to ride the shit out of this until the end of January 2019. If by some miracle February and march of 2019 do not crash, the bull will keep charging till 2020. Screen cap this.

Automated driving fleets will cut costs and benefit low income a huge amount. The cut costs in transportation of food and goods also helps.

The cost to maintain a low income lifestyle will be reduced a lot in western societies just from automated transport alone.

GOOD amd news out of computex

https://videocardz.com/newz/jensen-huang-next-geforce-is-a-long-time-from-now

What the conference has confirmed is that NVIDIA is not even ready to talk about the new series yet. Any question about the next installment in GeForce portfolio has been met with a laugh and no definite answer from Jensen.

The press conference was an invite-only event. Those who were invited were welcomed by snacks handed personally out by Jensen. Unfortunately, those who were expecting a taste of a new Geforce were left with disappointment.

No details about GeForce 20 were given, although journalists were trying to at least get a hint.

What Jensen told everyone was that they will be invited to the launch of new GeForce, but they should not expect it very soon. This confirms what we have been hearing from the industry for the past few months, NVIDIA has not given any details to their partners yet, so there is nothing to talk about yet.

those two in particular are electricity providers in California and their transmission lines got "blamed" for "causing" some of the wildfires last year, even though they complied with every safety regulation that was on the books and literally did nothing wrong. Because of that, under California law, there is a threat of them being sued for the damages that those wildfires caused but I'm betting that the courts will either cap those damages or throw the claims out since they took every reasonable and necessary precaution.

How do you guys find your pivots. I've been following regression line +/- a standard deviation spread and it seems to give a good place to get good entry/ext strategies.

It doesnt protect from sudden market boggenings but you can get a feel for the day from what the vix/$tick is doing

Today is a boring day with a +/- 1 SD trend in the SPY on low volume that is slightly bullish, the dow is even tighter.

There was a surge of buying that was rejected this morning and now its been mostly quiet. I'm not seeing any good trades right now but managed to grab a +2.50 /ES on the first dip today. No other setups appear to be forming so i'll probably be just looking for bargains on the daily candles instead.

DIS turned out to be a good play on friday I'll sick with it until we return to the mean or my stop is hit. Otherwise i'll just sell OTM covered calls for free money.

nvidia pivoting more towards new areas of growth and away from gaming (since it has a huge lead)

Huang had just finished announcing Nvidia’s Jetson Xavier, which Huang said is the first computer designed specifically for robotics. Powered by six processors—including a Volta Tensor core GPU, eight ARM64 cores, and deep learning accelerators and image processors—Xavier is the kind of computer that could be used to build a robot to hand you a wrench in the lab, like Tony Stark’s Jarvis.

Indonesian birthday celebrations involving humiliating the child.

Another a tradition that usually done by teenagers that has been going on for years is to make birthday person feel special or more likely miserable. The birthday person would be thrown with disgusting stuff, or thrown to a dirty pond, it depends how lucky you are. If your friends were nice, the birthday person would be lucky enough just to get smudge with a cake on their face and poured flour. The common tradition is to be thrown by egg and flour. I experience this twice, but I was still lucky because my friends did it in my house driveway, it could be worse.

If you can hold through the June 13th fed shitpost it might come through with the way that the bond market is coming apart right now.
Check out what happened around January 26th, the last time that this exact same scenario was playing out.
The bond market is going to suck brainlet cash out of the equities market.

Hmm, I've never actually taken those into account. I've just bought something when I suspect it to go down or up.
So let me get this straight, if I have a conviction that a sector of the market is going to go down, I would be able to get better swings with something that has a high delta in general?

depends on a lot of things.
i like them for slow moving high priced things. when theyre deep ITM theres no time value left, so you can buy the nearer term cheaper ones. i like to think of the delta as a representation of how many shares of the underlying im LARPing as having

also, unlike OTM options, the chances of total liquidation are rather low. as long as it stays ITM, theyll still have intrinsic value.

if its a gap against you, you can either just eat it, or you can double down or hold (hence why you still wanna give yourself some time. i like 15-25 days out desu). but this trend bonds are in is pretty ugly, and its still up way high from even two weeks ago.
