Popular brokers for stock trading:

Robinhood
>commission free and no minimum to open
http://www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on cash/securities and fees from their Robinhood Gold service

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

A form of probing but based off a very specific pattern. I realize Wall Street is big boy shit compared to babby tier crypto but I think I've found my calling and I'm willing to give it a shot. Hell, if I get some kind of proof of concept to the point I think latency is the difference between me and millions, I'm more than willing to encode my shit on an FPGA and set up shop across the street from the exchange. I have the competence and if the money's right, nothing's off the table. I've just been so deep in crypto, adding new exchanges, tweaking, etc., I haven't had time to look into where to get a good stock feed, hence the asking here.

I heard Morgan Stanley has a very solid platform for the big boy HFTs.
Interactive Brokers might be a better starting point though.
I'm very skeptical that you can out-do wall street's HFTs though. A lot of them write their shit in assembly and are already set up across the street from NYSE and use fiber optic cables / lasers.
I heard Goldman Sachs reacts to market orders faster than it takes light to travel from the top to the bottom of the tallest building in the world. There's a lot of people out there making 6 figures with stock HFT, unlike crypto. It's at the point where it's not that hard to find free resources on it.

By ANN, is that artificial neural network or some kind of indicator?
And yeah momentum seems like the way to go. For the research papers I've read and examples I've seen online, the best results always seem to come from momentum strategies or at least including momentum as one of the features.

That's incredible accuracy though. I'll definitely check that out. Most shit I've seen doesn't get reproducible results if the accuracy is over 70%.

I agree, long $GIS and $KHC

Long $MU as well. Semiconductors have been invulnerable to the trade war. I like $AMD and $NIVDIA but I'd be afraid to buy either until I see some healthy pullback. $MU is a good buy right now I loaded up on Friday when the price dipped.

I'm currently making a gap play on $AAOI and it's not too late to join me for an easy 5% this week. I'm making the same play on $DUK but you're probably too late to jump in, unless we have a bad oil day monday, then buy it up cheap and I'll buy more.

I'm getting out of oil in general though. I'm working on a boat in the pacific and my internet is shitty and unreliable. If you're at your computer all day though, I highly reccomend playing $DNR. The company has great financials and a super productive new well so the price should continue to have a bull trend in general. If it breaks ceiling while youre holding its gonna bull run pretty far. Just keep your eye on the news and on oil prices. Trade war vulnerable.

Also, gap plays on $GE. Overnight/intraday. it has a pretty defined range right now so just keep swinging

A whole bunch of tinder whores are gonna be turning 30 and hitting the wall over the next decade or two and find themselves single and unmarryable. When women become unmarketable, they turn to coping mechanisms like Wine, Dildos, Romance Novels, Cats, and Anti-depressants.

I was mainly doing a play off of the Italian bonds meltdown.
It seemed like shorting bonds was a good play with the 2 impending rate hikes, but I didn't want to pack into a crowded trade, which I heard shorting US bonds was. Then, I heard that bonds are getting squeezed by the Italian situation, and I went "Oh! There's my pullback!"

I have puts on TLT, which seemed like the best way to go about this. TLT is based on 20+ year treasuries, which are best reflected on investing.com by 10Y and 30Y futures.
Maybe I should've done puts on SHY instead since those 1Y treasuries do seem to be reacting more in line with the way I expect US bonds to be behaving through all this.

I'm pretty new to the government bonds game, what do you think of my strategy? How are you playing this out?

>> No.9738310

>>9738071
>I enjoy the posts
Thanks!
To elaborate a little more on the pullback that I'm looking for:
I noticed with the last 2 fed rate hikes that the market shit itself.
For the 2nd one, the tech sector particularly shit itself.
I've heard tech is very overvalued right now, and that Friday bull run was surreal and absurd to me.
So, I'm feeling a solid pullback in tech following the June 13th rate hike if not sooner.
This 3rd rate hike is looking just as ripe as the last 2 with how overvalued treasuries are right now coming off of Italy's meltdown -- so much so that I'm even doing successful shorts of the bond market as you can see from my other posts.

If bonds don't pull back down by June 13th and tech keeps up this surreal bull run as well, I bet we can get some delicious deals on tech stocks.

>I mostly just market scan for Renko bullish reversals and im experimenting with some different patterns/indicators.
I've never really tried Renko charts before.
I've done candlestick charts, but I love all the weird, obscure charts some people play with in these threads.
I'll check out out Renko charts. They look dank.

Also, I have no idea why the author is making such a big deal about that 3% yield level or that treasuries are going to keep dropping in price.
The feds are hiking rates.
That's just how it works.
Rate hikes = cheaper treasuries.
The author sounds like a total bitch, making a big deal out of literally the fact of life.
The yield curve will literally widen back up if the 10Y or 30Y really does drop in price and the 2Y rises. This is a good thing. It seems like the author might not understand this.

Yes, we need rate hikes. Easy money has ended. This will likely be painful for some.
Yes, rate hikes mean lower bond prices. That's simply how it works.

I think the main point of the article is that shorting treasuries and bonds is a very crowded trade
I know you have some puts on TLT and wish you the best
What I understood of the market reaction : the latest NFP data were stellar and the market think the FED might take a more hawkish stance with their tate hikes, so bonds were dumped

But I don't think the FED dare to be more aggressive than they are. With that many ongoing problems (EU, Turkey, Brazil, trade war) and how crowed the short trade is, bonds are riped for a sudden rebound imo.

The feds have said in recent interviews following Italy's situation that they basically don't give a fuck about geopolitical shit going on.
They're pretty set on their current plan for the year.
Also, the market drop from the jobs report was nothing compared to the rise from the Italian bond meltdown. I think that -- the Italian bond meltdown -- WAS the short squeeze.

I'm already up 10% on my puts. If it goes back to a net loss on my puts, I'll just double down.
They're mostly for pretty far out (January) too. So I can totally ride this shit out.
I'm completely ready to eat that full $2500 on puts as a loss too.

A safe thing to do is sell half before the news and half after. I did this with earnings calls that stressed me out.

I'm already up 10% as of Friday close dude.
Futures market is suggesting that my gains on the position are going to double at open too.

I am planning to sell off some of these puts today, but depending on the timeframe you're planning, you're going to carry that weight on your call option if you're being serious.

I agree that this is probably a crowded trade, but I think the Italian bond meltdown shook out enough of a short squeeze.
TLT popped up TWO PERCENT on last Tuesday. That was more than SPY moved on that day, and more than SPY has moved on all but a handful of days over the last few fears.
And TLT is BONDS.
I really think that was the short squeeze that everyone was looking for, and I hopped in to ride the squeeze back down at the peak.

I know this is a legit piece of advice.
But there are mainly memestors trading in the US and don't have access to thr European (Spanish for ENCE) market
I will definitely look into it the next time shtf for the EU

Also, if you have access to the Norvegian Borse, take a look at Bakkafrost (BAKKA). It is a nice salmon farming company. The industry has a good tailwind, the company is moderately leveraged, prudent management, margins are higher than its peers', BAKKA has diversified customers in the world, you get exposure to a non-euro currency

As of today, BAKKA seems to have finished its consolidation. I think it is a nice entry point

It's because it seems like an OTC company (I haven't checked), and when you post memes about a stock with minimal history of contributions, it seems like a pump scheme.

I have an alternative point of view on the 2 phenomena you described:

- employers don't particularly like employing illegals or favoring illegal immigration. They use them because there are here and there are plenty of them. This is basic business, offer create demand, not the other way around
- "legal" immigrants. In fact, you have to think of this foreign people in term of military strategy. Even they carry no ill intent, they still act as a base for people of their kind. It was because there are already a strong foreign presence that makes immigration (legal or illegal) much more easier. I do think the legal immigrants are the greatest of threat. And once again, them being nice or respectful of their host country are not into the equation. They are unconsciously invading the space just by being of a forgein country (just like the Asian communities for example, who we all agree on the fact they integrate ad don't cause problems)

>> No.9743191

>Funny thing is the legal Mexicans fucking hate the illegals more than the whites.
Mexicans who immigrate here legally are mad they went through the trouble of doing it the right way and the illegals didn't. As for hispanics they call us pochos and we call them mojados. There is lot of resentment between us.
>>9743055
>employers don't particularly like employing illegals or favoring illegal immigration. They use them because there are here and there are plenty of them.
Businesses like factories love to use illegals because you can abuse them and they won't complain. They also work hard and won't call in sick or try to sue the company over things like sexual harassment or unpaid overtime. In the fields they pay the pickers by the basket and since the illegals live on site with their families you'll often see the wives and children help pick so that they can make more money. This violates child labor laws, but farmers look the other way because it makes them more money. I'm a hispanic in California and I've seen the impact of illegal immigration first hand.

For the rest of the country you’re right but for Texas I don’t think that’s completely true.
Texas has always been a melting pot of white black and Mexican. This goes back hundreds of years. Sometimes it’s more white than others but it still remains a mix.
The Mexicans have traditionally been divided over loyalties for hundreds of years too. On one side you have those who came here to work hard and make a good life. Texas has been good to them and they’re feircely loyal to the state, more so than some whites. Texas is in thier blood and they’ll die to defend it. History has proven that over and over again.
Then you have those who come here for a quick buck. They are the true migrants. They have no loyalty to any state and will simply go where they see opportunity, legal or otherwise. Those are the ones who need to be stopped.
As far as employers go it’s already a federal law that they can’t hire them. Those that ignore it treat them like literal slaves though. They know the illegals can’t speak up about employment conditions or pay so the employers just do what they want. Some are lucky and find work with farmers who treat them well but most end up in factories with conditions no better than the industrial revolution and no ability to change that.

JD is probably going to have a nice run sometime in the next 2 weeks, they put on a huge sale June 18th every year like Amazon's Prime Day sale where they routinely break their own single-day sales records. Normally I'd say yes but JD hit a new 52 week low just last week in the same area as its previous 52 week low that it hit several weeks earlier. The double bottom is established and I'm expecting a steady price increase until news starts hitting about the 6/18 sale again. The stock price is VERY low right now, news about the 6/18 sale should be the catalyst that lifts it back up into the upper $40's.

Sure, I could see AMD at $40 in 2020 if they keep kicking ass with their new CPUs and can prove that demand for their GPUs isn't entirely crypto dependent. I still see a dip / correction / pullback coming within a month before it really takes off. They're still barely turning a profit and are just trading on the Ryzen hype and some hopeful sales projections. Until some real numbers start coming in they won't find any solid footing and will remain somewhat volatile.

Accurate valuation? 100 lower
Do I think it will go down anytime soon? No

Netflix has a weird model that anyone familiar with game publishing online would hate. They are increasingly becoming an "only our stuff" platform. Think Steam with only Valve games. They didn't become a platform that every media company publishes on and puts stuff on. It's the opposite.

The valuation is considering them a "winner" of online video content when they are just becoming another player in a field that is getting more competiitive. The exact opposite scenario of winners like Steam, which publish every game even from competitors.

I'm just getting into stocks. I've done a lot of research and from what I've gathered this will be my trading strategy: Make and maintain a watchlist of stocks that aren't going to bankrupt any time soon, then trade them on a cycle of buy on bear during a sell off period and resell on bull @5-10% gains. This issue I'm having is making that watch list of reliable stocks. So far I have KO, AMD, SBUX, GE, F, INTC, T, S, UAA, UA. I was wondering if I could get some help from you guys
