I'm thinking something like, you can stake gas to earn coins. The more gas you stake the more coins you can earn, but also higher the chance a portion of your coins will get randomly burned. When coins are burned some of you gas is converted to ash.

I'm not sure what to do with the ash yet or what purpose it will serve...
