9686746 No.9686746 [Reply] [Original]

I'm not a whale, I abused a bug on binance and spammed the lowest amount for withdrawals into my account, siphoning 17 million coin hours into my wallet in 2 hours. I only had 150 SKY, not 150k. I sold my 150 SKY and do not plan to re-enter the project. I talked to the Skycoin team and they have no plans to fix the bug, one actually told me "that's just the way it is". You can't get as many as you could when I did it, but you can get still a very large amount for what it's worth. This throws the enter sky economy into a tailspin because now skyminers do not have enough incentivization to run nodes and holders of the Skycoin are making pennies per day due to the devaluation occuring of the coin hours by many people still spamming binance withdraws and getting millions of free coin hours which would actually take years to accumulate the legit way. I am exposing Skycoins gross incompetence on this matter. The entire project is now dead on arrival. There will have to be a reset of coin hours which will spark outrage in the community, if not the coin hour spam whales will drive down the price of coin hours when they go live on an exchange to prices so cheap it's be basically free. At the moment, Coin Hours are technically worth $0.00005 or $0.40 per 7,800 via 0.02 SKY spam withdrawls on binance. This has been going on for days. The entire Skycoin economy is broke now with Coinhours being unlimitedly free and having near zero value. We're waiting for your response Synth...

everybody knows this, by the way. we call it the "coin hour lottery". cryptopia limits withdrawals to whole coins, so their servers don't get bogged down with requests. I've gotten over a half million several times, but honestly its usually 0 or a couple dozen, unless you do a withdrawal big enough to pull up old utxo's with more hours.

the only reason you got a ton is because binance had their withdrawals turned off for days, and some whales deposited a shitton of coins that had been in storage forever. just by sending those coins they potentially burned billions of coin hours, and you're freaking out over 7800 per withdrawal? lmfao

this isn't broken, btw. this is exactly how the coinhour system was designed. there's a reason why coinhours don't have value yet, and it looks like you are continually failing to realize it.

Yes there is a "bug" that gives you more coinhours, this is not a skycoin bug but it's binance fault for not setting the wallet up properly. All SKY generated coinhours while sitting in the binance wallet. When you trade SKY you get 25% of that wallets coinhours, so OP traded in small amount and got 25% multiple times (effectively stealing from others)

BUT!!! This DIDN'T devalue coinhours, it made them more valuable because what OP forgot is that each time you send 1 sky you burn 50% of your coinhours, so OP burned a fuckton of coinhours that were available on binance, making the overall supply of coinhours more valuable.

Now guess what happened?? OP sold his sky and.. BURNED 50% of his coinhours, so now he is angry because he lost 50% of what he accumulated and wants it back HAHAHAHAHAHA FAGGOT OP

it's about the CH man and the principle that it takes very small amounts of SKY to get large amounts of CH which would take centuries to stake for the equivalent of SKY you burn in transaction fees (binances fees).

Like >>9687854
says, you burn something like what 50cents for hundreds of thousand or even millions of CH which you'd have to stake hard for?

I personally am not that bothered by it, but this is definitely a fuck up out principle. And what when Skywire is live and this shit still happens? Means people hosting nodes will get paid lottery money, it destructs all the value of CH as you could just keep playing CH lottery.

Binance can force skycoins to do 5 wallet hops before sending it, efficiently burning all the skyhours. Boom problem solved.
But truth is no one cares about skyhours, it doesn't have any value yet. Abusing this loop would force you to hold skycoins for a year or two to get profits, no one on biz has such strong hands kek.

Now there's a "bug" that lets you accumulate skyhours from other people if you leave it on the exchange. Now people are going to take it off exchange and hold, like they are supposed to. This results in less "volume". Now skycoin devs and whales have more control on the market volume and can pump and dump the coin for profits (for themselves or to fund the project). 9689099

OP is retarded. Let's break this down...

1. When you receive SKY from a wallet, you get 25% of that wallet's CH. The sending wallet keeps 25% of its CH and the other 50% are burned.
2. Binance holds so much SKY that it is constantly generating thousands of CH, so you should always get a decent amount of CH when transferring from Binance (for now).
3. Regardless, each transfer reduces the total amount of CH in existence, since 50% are burned, thereby slightly increasing the value of the remaining CH.
4. Currently, CH are worthless. They may be worth like a fraction of a cent in the future.
5. When CH become tradeable and have some small value, Binance will simply trade away its excess CH constantly, thereby keeping the supply of CH in its wallet low.
6. Once that happens, you won't get very many CH when transferring from Binance.
7. CH are designed to be inflationary. You're supposed to spend them because they won't really go up in value and you'll always get more by holding your SKY.
8. The fact that you lose 75% of your CH with each transaction is an anti-spam mechanism. If you try to spam the network with transactions you'll soon run out of CH and be unable to send.
9. Everything is working as designed. No bug.
