Auto sales are trending downwards. They flooded the market with easy financing, and it's getting harder to find new buyers. It's incredibly easy to buy a car right now, and they're struggling for sales. The last time it was like this they did the cash for clunkers program to destroy the used market and drive sales to low end new cars, and they flooded that market.
This is basic level stuff. If you're investing, or starting to, this is the easy, low hanging fruit you could have figured out yourself with 10 minutes and google.

>why most car makers are trading at incredibly low P/E?
Anything about a P/E of 30 is reserved almost exclusively for tech, semiconductors, and start-upy stuff.
Now, why it's so low proportionally to everything else...
US car manufacturing got JUSTd by the EPA regulations passed by Obummer administration and just haven't been the same ever since having to get bailed out.
EPA regulations still haven't been rolled back quite that well yet.
Foreign car manufacturers are kicking their asses and compete on an uneven playing field.

Also, Ford just cut their whole line of sedans, leaving just the mustang and one other model.
American car manufacturers rely heavily on their line-up of trucks.
I think people aren't a huge fan of buying new cars right now... Perhaps the typical consumer really does have enough wits to realize that cars are a depreciating asset, particularly american ones.

Anybody have a more informed opinion on this?

For F specifically: Ford's cars basically didn't make any money, all the profits are in trucks and compact SUVs, so the product line shift makes sense. The stock took a dive recently because they've been having production line problems with the F150, which is basically the product that makes them most of their money. I bought calls then because I thought it was more of a downturn than was warranted, but it's not a very large position

I'd recommend just downloading Robinhood, putting money you can throwaway into SPY (ticker for the S&P 500) and then putting a little into companies that catch your interest in order to get a feel for things.
Some people recommend "paper trading" as a wise way to get started. I don't.
There's a tripfag named "teh profit" that is stocking up nice resources on a board we have over on 8ch called /tisminc/
Do a little research whenever people shill you something or you'll get JUSTd/memed.

I knew Cash For Clunkers was bullshit when I found out they were chemically seizing the engines of perfectly good cars, causing all kinds of potential hazardous waste and pollution issues, and the guys doing it weren't told where to put the seized engines, so they sat in warehouses and fields for years. It was a complete waste of money and it gutted the used car market, they destroyed perfectly good used cars with plenty of miles left on them.

And it didn't fucking work. That's the enraging part. Obama didn't do shit during his Presidency for the greater good, it was all paybacks and bribes and he's a bigger corporatist than Trump could ever hope to be.

>There is less transparency and less stringent regulation on these exchange, so unsophisticated investors take on additional risk and could be subject to adverse conditions.
>OTCBB stocks are often either penny stocks or are offered by companies with bad credit records.
>Stocks are usually traded OTC because the company is small and cannot meet exchange listing requirements.
>American Depository Receipts, which represent shares in an equity that is traded on a foreign exchange, are often traded OTC, because the underlying company does not wish to meet the stringent exchange requirements.
These are facts.
OTC securities tend to be illiquid and less regulated.
Thus, harder to cash out whenever you want, harder to daytrade, and less regulated means more susceptible to gaming -- like what we saw with CARV, which is rare outside of OTC.

I do alot of business in OTCmarkets through the company itself, i buy and sell convertible debt, convertible preferred shares and other types of shares that you have to sell through broker dealers, these are fresh shares that come straight from the transfer agent that haven't hit market yet. Before i got into the business i thought the same fucking thing as you because of what i read online until i actually started trading them and that was over 4 years ago.. so i find it very aggravating when someone such as yourself will want to put down OTCmarkets without ever actually trading it a day in their life. If you actually go on ihub and read through some of the DD on some of these penny stocks i think you might be surprised at how much more sophisticated the investors are there then most other places in the markets. You're dealing alot with shell companies that have very unique financing, this type of financing is very critical to learn in OTCmarkets imo. Sure it's a bit more risky than stocks trading on a major exchange but the gains are alot larger. The trading is mostly done by broker dealers and indvidual investors so you don't have a bunch of algos and investment banks fucking with the order flow. Sure you have manipulation on the tape but it's easy to spot if you have some actual experience in the market.

I'm sure that you can't keep algorithmic trading from being performed. High Frequency Trading, sure, that's gone with OTC though.
You can always manually punch in numbers for doing some algo.s like momentum trading though.

On ZeroHedge during the weekend, it seems EURUSD is having a very high short positions among specs.

The main issue with EUR weakness is Italy.

Knowing the guidos being the niggers of Europe and hand-talking faggots, they make a lot of noises and threats but will probably end up folding. And the EU bureaucrat fags will once again kick the can down the road. And that would be the catalyst for the unwinding of the shorts.
