Why not just stake/reward fiat for node operators?

Even if decentralized oracles have a purpose, why do you need to use the LINK token specifically? Yes I read the whitepaper, yes I Did My Own Research, and I still can't comprehend the purpose of the token itself.

ChainLink is a scam. It's copying a similar project which was created years ago that no one ever used because decentralized oracles are useless in practice:

LINK is a /biz/ meme, nothing more, nothing less. The actual "project" is vaporware and aims to solve a non-existent problem.

Yes but you could get priority by staking more fiat instead of LINK tokens. It's a literally 1:1, if you need to stake or reward $100 worth of tokens, why not just cut out the middleman and stake/reward $100?

Linkies ladies and gentlemen. Anytime you point out the fundamental flaws in their coin, they fall back to 'FUD!' 'DYOR!' 'I'LL CREATE 50 LINK THREADS A DAY WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING OF SUBSTANCE IN THEM'

how are you gonna stake FIAT you fucking idiot? how are you gonna pay the node operators in FIAT? will you doxx some neet in Moldovia to wire him a transfer because he happened to fulfill your contract?

I swear the only fud linklets can come up with is some stupid scenarios of doing something different just for the sake of it

>> No.9528146

Because Sergey doesn't want that. It's simple, businesses using the network will see the fiat value of Link tokens staked on a node, and they will be paying with fiat that will automatically be swapped to Link for payment for node operators on the back end. They won't ever have to buy Link tokens directly unless they want to, yet they will be utilizing the token regardless.

>> No.9528320

>>9525687
It's for purposes of good boy points. Why not stake something else instead? Because that's what the nodes have been prepared to handle, but the contracts themselves could request some other kind of collateral. Some other crypto could make sense (making it a different system), but staking Fiat could be torublesome because maybe one of the parties in the contract can print more Fiat. Not that it's much better when crypto is so volatile.

You're ID is pink which is what you're face will be if you don't buy link. I'm tired of spoonfeeding you lazy turds, I've been doing it for 8 fucking months and the same retarded "Muh why not use fiat" happens all the fucking time. You're right retard why use ethereum for dapps when you could just use a network of databases and computers like the internet. The purpose of the link token is to establish a reputation, if the node operators can stake whatever the fuck they want they won't have any reason to be a part of chainlinks network. Link is the first mover for what they are trying to do, but someone could easily come along and implement the idea in a slightly tweaked manner. The success of link depends entirely on the node operators and those willing to be a part of the network. Anyone interested in being a part of the network now would have zero interest if the link token could be replaced by any arbitrary fiat value. The link token is the incentive method Sergey is using to get people interested in being part of the network. because NO ONE IS GOING TO PUT THEIR BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS INTO BEING AN EARLY NODE OPERATOR WITHOUT THE POTENTIAL FOR LINKS PRICE TO RIZE. Think of it as a communal network goal. All nodes will want the price of link to rise thus they will work to achieve this. If link is replaced with arbitrary fiat value none of this community involvement in the project will remain. Last time I'm spoonfeeding you fucking retards, don't buy and I'll see you when you fomo in at $10
