go halfsies. Use 500k to live properly for a couple of years while using the other 500k to make more.

$1 million is far beyond the critical mass amount of money you need to have your money make more money with no effort. At that point you'd have to be nigra to not get richer.

You don't have stupid amounts of money you have one (1) million dollars. You could maybe afford office space for a year or one decent painting. You can't do anything of significance with a million dollars but you never would have done anything significant regardless of money since you think in such vague terms.

Could effectively double my current income by living off 4% and re-investing the other 2% in "safer bets."

Or I could go hard into the things I care about and risk losing what little magic I had to build something that can actually help people.
>Probably the former
>because the latter is too emotionally driven and irrational, not because it's risky.

The ideal is to go soft on the money,
>use 1% as a cushion/landing pad for worst-case scenarios, by paying off my apartment on an annual basis at a discount and leaving what little shit I own there
>travel 6-8 months/year on 2.5%,
>and use that last .5% for emergencies or, if available by end-of-year, some kind of gift
>maybe a hardware upgrade or new software or a couple interesting university/online courses that might help me build something useful

Could just get a goPro, some hookers, and good cut of blow, save 20k for some college dropout with decent vid editing skills, hit up the local casino and bet it all on red. Have one hell of a fucked up night, film it, and get the kid to make a couple cuts with different atmospheres. Off to Cannes to be a fucking shill. Profit.

I'd be willing to win a million off anyone who honestly believed that.

There are people who have done things of significance with less than 10$. Anyway, I invested as follows:
850k in real estate- big house for me and some appartments for rent ($3k/mo after tax income)
250k in boomer index-ish stock@ approx 10-12% pa
300k in state treasuries @ 3-5% pa
200k cash in bank
35k in crypto
My goal is to not touch the stox and live off cash and rents as long as I could.
Don't have kids so plan to sell my house in 10 years also.
Meanwhile I hit the gym, travel and live as comfy as I can.
Btw, real estate value is the money I invested like 5-6 years ago.
