When did you realize high school was a waste of time and money and that you had to take initiative to teach yourself the stuff that really matters, anon?

I fell for the college meme but learned a trade beforehand.
Luckily, college is also free in my country so whatever.

Social interactions. Fucking hot teens. Playing organized sports.

I would not fucking sit on the computer and learn all of the math I needed for the career I'm in now.

Learned countless things that I wouldn't know off hand without high school.

If you don't get AT LEAST a g.e.d., you're a worthless nigger who's only hope is to gamble. High school builds a foundation of knowledge, social experience, and gives you methods for ways to interpret problems/data and critically think of a solution.
The worse, most worthless people I know were the ones who thought high school was a joke. They were the ones who got shitty grades, got in trouble with the law, do drugs, probably not go to college, and end up takin my orders from the Starbucks drive thrue.

people dont go to school anymore to learn. it is because employers want a diploma, or that is at leat what people think. secondly many people simply go to study for status. people have low self esteem and they prefer not say they have no schooling. even if they know they will not get employed, they still might want to pay or use 5-6 years of hard work for a piece of paper. but in the end people are judged by their skills, achievements and intelligence, not by papers

Higher education is a meme when you have your shit together and have an orientation in your life. It turns out that only very few people at young age do.

Many fall into the trap of dropping out of school because they look at the few (such as Bill Gates) that made it without it and assume that they themselves can pull that out as well.

However, the reality is that those like Bill Gates already knew where they were heading. They had a vision. Most dropouts, however, are just lazy and looking for excuses to sit on their asses all day and be NEETs.

Oh btw. I am not from the US, where college is ridiculously expensive.

In that case, yes, it most likely is a meme if you can't afford it.

High school is secondary education (grades 9-12) not higher education and is free. That said, it's also a giant meme with a bunch of college educated government workers trying to convince ALL students to graduate and go to college, while not really preparing them in any way for life out in the real world. It's just one part of the higher education bubble.

>welcome to college where you are forced to re-learn all the shit you learned in high school! get ready to pay for expensive books and try to sell them off at a low low price!!

College is a scam. This is including private for profit colleges.

Just eradicate highschools and bring in trade schools. There used to be a lot in california and now the government got rid of them because they want dumb people in our society.
